Im going to fit a waterchill kit into my vapochill and cool the water as low as possible...

I wondered what people thought would be the best mix of water / anti freeze / anti algee to use as im going to run as low temps as possible.. maybe down to zero degrees.. :p:

Ive heard anti freese thickens when cold?

yeah antifreeze can get that way. many people use menthanol i believe. and i dont think you need to worry about micro organisms as they usually dont do to well below freezing. ;)

There're some organisms that can only live in harsh evnironment, ie extreme cold, heat, pH, chemicals. They were the first organisms on Earth when it was inhospitable. Better watch out for that crap, LOL :)

Thanks for the comments lol....

But the temp i will be going down to is as close to 0c as possible , not -20.. thats part of my old sig i aint removed yet...

I dont think the vapochill will cool the waterchill down to -20 do you.. ;)

Does anyone know the actual answer to the question....?

best mix ratio... for low temps..?

Use alcohol + water. Methanol works best buts its pretty toxic. Ethanol is a lot safer and almost as good. You'll need an airtight coolant loop though (no open res or you'll be sorry).

Im using a 50% spiritus (spiritus = 85% methanol) and 45% demineralised water and 5% car cooling liquid (for anti corrosion/anti alg)

You're worried about alge in 42.5% methanol medium? :)

That methanol is a heck of a lot more toxic then the antifreeze.
