ok im planning on doing some waterchilling. i want to be able to fit the whole chiller within half of a cut up chenming. right now i have a mcp600, rbx, maze4 gpu, maze4 northbridge, and bix2.

i need to know some basic things and some simple instructions. do i need to keep my rad? would having the rad help temps? what size ac unit i need(btu?)
how exactly do i get it to chill the water? do i need to cut the pipes at all? and if i do how do i rejoin them? plz just post some basic points and tips. thanks. :)

If ur planning why all the questions? :P

I'm not an expert but i got some pointers
-What temp goals have u got?
if they are gone be like: -40 C then u gota isolate isolate isolate... and if u got lucite/plexi tops then u need other tops cuz they will crack ;)
-radiator? hehe if u put a radiator in a 20 C room when the temp of the rad. is lower, what will hapen.... yes it will make the room cooler :P and get condensed and freeze if its too cold.
-Making small chillers aint an easy job. You will need a lot of knowledge about refrigeration.

btw: cuz i'm a phase change n00b I bought a plug&play waterchiller for 150 euro's (with swiftech fittings connected) a r134a 1/5hp compressor with 222watts cooling power @ -10
but i'm waiting for my pump to arive :-/ so i can start testing

People: correct me if i'm wrong :D

well i thought i would put the rad after the blocks because i thought the water would be warmer than ambient. i guess not. im not looking for xtreme temps. maybe -10 or so. and i have lucite nb and cpu blocks but i could get brass ones from DD. i guess i will have lots of insulating to do on my blocks. i was planning on just getting a really small AC unit.

its a watercooler from some commercial machine (coffeemachine or something) that was designed to chill water to 1 c

its: 39.5 x 28.5 x 22.5 cm

They guy who sold it told me it cooled:
-15 degrees with and XP@3200 + gf4ti4600+ NB (or something)
He made some swiftech connectors on it and he made a thermostat so when i get my pump i'm gona check if it can keep water @ around 20 degrees so i can use it for me complete loop and i dont have to isolate just yet ;)

btw as u can c i was still thinking about the lucite in the thread mentioned above.
Better safe then sorry ;)

better pics soon
