I already have a Vantec Tornado but I want to do something a bit more. ;) Is there anything higher than an 84CFM Tornado?

I don't think there is anything higher CFM than that Tornado as far as 80MM goes. perhaps try a 92MM Tornado? Not sure what heatsink ur mounting it on tho. Good luck, but I've never seen anything wilder than the Tornado :D

An 80mm Delta EHE running at 15v :D. Tried it - it hovers. Id guess at something approaching 100cfm. if youw ant pure airflow though then get a 120mm to 80mm converter and use a delta 120mm EHE for 190cfm. Crank the volts up to 15v and you should get somewhere near 230cfm. You NEED some earplugs though....

Had it running off a 6 year old 200 watt AT psu (the on off switch type) which by some miracle had a 12/5v pot in it. Cranked the pot all the way up and guess what? No Overvolt protection :p. Used to use it when I was on high end air cooling for 3dmark.

Not sure if the vantec could hack much over 12v, but the Delta EHE is rated 5 - 15v according to the site.

Don't you lose cfm when using those adapters?

Thanks for the info... a 200cfm fan gets me a little :smileysex: if you know what I mean. ;)

Everything I've heard of those adapters has been bad, lol. How bout trying to overvolt that Tornado? 100CFM perhaps :D

Hi Jeff,

I have a Papst 6212n 170mm fan that is wide enough to cover the entire motherboard with air and provides so much pressure that your feet get cold from the air escaping from the PCI blanking plates that are off. They're very expensive though. If you buy one you will not be disapointed. This really does feel like 200cfm, you have to wonder about some of the claims out there.

Great result with the memory bandwidth in the other thread ! I'm glad you haven't got the Rage 128 Pro in that machine ( or have you ;) ) . My new Xp2400 is in and the modded Rage 128 with the sk6 is raring to go. I am just burning the XP2400 in. It's nothing special though, with air I am sort of around the 2.2GHz mark at stock multiplier, so I may or may not be able to beat your score with your overclocked older XP.

The beers are going down well though!

Regards

Andy

I was thinking about having one of those nights tonight(it's only 10am where I am). ;)

And thanks for the fan information. I just want to see how much can be done with air, regardless of noise. ;)

Back when i was getting ducting for my system, i saw a 6in 250 CFM fan at Menard's... ;)
Or you could get a 500 CFM 8in one! I value my ears though... :p

If you want air flow, use one of these. I have one running at 7v cooling rad. On 12v it will run you out of the house.

Mine is the Model JQ12B4 12v 235cfm
