Hope this is the right place for this...

Has anyone seen/experienced GNDS with these EE processors, when overclocked to max stable settings, and a small vcore boost (or more?).

I mean, voltages such as 1.60v on the low end, to about 1.7 on the high end?
(air or water).

I've seen a few posts with people with M0 stepping CPU's (L3 cache disabled perm) suffering from GNDS even with a modest voltage increase.

One of my regular 3.4C's suffered GNDS (lost 125 mhz overclock) at -just- 1.625v. (default is 1.55)

I haven't had GNDS yet, but I don't keep my CPU overclocked and 1.60v 24/7, I set it up for games, then -underclock- it (and lower vcore below stock (1.575v = stock (Box MAX/Intel spec sheet) to 1.55, when finished.)

GNDS = Gallantin Nsomething Death Syndrome? I have had my 3.4EE at suicidal voltages with no problem. Although, it won't overclock with clockgen anymore without freezing.

Well GNDS means Gradual Northwood Degrading/Death syndrome.. slowly losing the overclock.

The Gallatin -is- a northwood, just with added L3 cache...right?

nop.... gallatin is a different core... its different from northwood and prescott. though it bares lots of similarities to northwood (same architecture...)

Gallantin is the old Xeon and the EE version is just got extra cache and added Northwood features right?

A Galltin IS a Northwood with 2mb of L3. Nothing is different from the two. Disable the L3 cache and its that same as Northwood.

Nope. The gallantin has netburst and lots of xeon features. Its basicly an old xeon with smp disabled and a 800 bus speed.

All P4s have Netburst. It may be an "old" Xeon, but when you disable the L2 it will preform the same as a equally clocked Northwood. Its just a Northwood with 2mb L3.
