I would like to install some ramsinks in a way that they are still removeable.

I saw in the Vmod article the card on the picture has ramsinks and it seems like they are attached with some white spots on the card. does anyone know what this is or knows a way how I could attach them without living glue traces , ... behind on the chips. thermal past comes off very easy but glue ... :D

thnx in advance

p.s. this one:

I use a mix of "Lee press on nail glue" and AS2 50/50 approx

Test it first to get he right mix.

yea little to no residue, or you can always use frag tape.

Just test before you use on actual card.

ieuw, I hate fragtape! ;)

for it's poor heatconduction.

i use as3 epoxy, still removeable after a freezer and gentle spoon job!

I used 40/60 AS epoxy/AS III. The ramsinks are really stuck on there, but like ns_ripper stated, you can stick the card in a freezer to make the epoxy brittle, then a careful pop-off job should do the trick.

Be careful trying to remove ramsinks that are attached with epoxy... I did it a bunch of times and only had one problem. Unfortunately it involved a perfectly fine tnt2 ultra... and yes I had the card in the freezer for a couple hours before I tried removing the ramsinks...

i'd use arctic alumina adhesive, since it doesn't conduct electricity.
it comes in 2 tubes,
but instead of mixing them 50/50, like the instuructions say,
use 75% thermal compound to 25% epoxy.
that way, it doesn't get attached permanently.
