I've had my XP1800+ for over a year now and want to make sure I can't do any more with it.

Chip is a AGOIA core, 32 week I think, I have unlocked the L1 bridges useing the rewindow defog kit method. Does this ever need to be redone?

I can't get the thing to run over 1690mhz and be stable is this about right for it?

The other thing is I can't run FSB over 141 and still get into Windows XP.

System Spec:

Antec SX1040B case (400 watt PS)
Abit KG7-Raid with latest 9M Bios
2 X Crucial reg. PC2100 256 mb (512 total)
PNY Verto GeForce4 Ti 4400
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound
Linksys 10/100 Fast network card for cable modem
Artec 16X DVD rom
Plextor Plexwriter 40x12x40A burner
3.5 floppy Teac or Samsung can't remember
Maxtor 80 gig C: drive
Maxtor 40 gig D: drive
ThermalRight AX7 with Delta 80, 80 CFM

Temps from onboard sensors with the VIA monitor
Case 27C
CPU 32C Idle 36C Full load from SIS sandra burn

I know for a fact it is not my RAM, Video or Sound I have checked them in another system almost Identical all but the CPU is the same it has a 1.4 T'Bird and all will go over 150 FSB on that machine.

Could I have a bad Board? Or is this the limit on the 1800+ CPU?
Or do I need to unlock other bridges on the CPU?

Thanks Folks

over a year but AGOIA core week 32??

is it 0132 or 0232 and you sure it's AGOIA.

In any case with the fsb thing make sure a bios option "IDE prefetch" is disabled and see how far fsb you can go :)

edit: I assume you have tried with just one stick of ram at a time to see if both cause problems.

Dapper,

Welcome to Xtreme :)

I'm also from Central PA ;)

Those early XP chips were not great overclockers. If you were to sell your 1800+ and buy a newer 1600+ I'm sure you'd see a great increase in OC'ability. And try seversphere's idea for the FSB.

Ok maybe I'm remembering wrong I had it wrote down but can't find my info (just recently moved) it might be a AGKGA then, don't wanna pull the HSF it's a pain.

I got it right before the 1900+'s came out, I was alittle ticked cause I no sooner got mine than the 1900+ came out.

Yea it's the same with 1 or 2 get same result it starts to boot then kills the power to the monitor and all activity quits.

I hate to put more money in this thing I would like to get a new Hammer if they ever get here and do a new board and all but I might just settle for a 2600 or 2800 if they ever show up.

shray: haha only you can tell us ;) - what color is the CORE (not substrate)

Dapper if it's AGKGA then you are probably at the max for air cooling and no vmod. But you can still make the board go high fsb.

all the brown and green people talk about is the substrate color. The core of the chip will either be purplish tint or greenish tint. I think it's probably greenish tint.
