It looks like it should on paper. Same package (478 pin PPGA). Is that a mobile prescott? Sure looks like one - 90nm, 1MB L2 and rated 6.1W higher than my 3.0c even though its a mobile chip. Guess there is only one way to find out :stick:

Do you have a non-mobile 478 pin P4 to compare it to? If you do, lay them side by side and see if you spot any pin layout differences. Or you could just slap it in the socket to see if the pins match up with the socket. I've never heard of anyone using a P4-M in a desktop board, but that is my personal experience. The ones that have tried have always attempted this sort of thing with Banias and Dothan chips, which CAN be socket 478, but always have a different pin layout. I'm sure there is someone on this forum that has done so before. You could always do the unmentionable and fire it up...probably not the best idea though considering its an ES.

Then my Cpu is a Socket 478 with all the right Pin it and on the Core there is written "Confidential"

Cpu-z writes it as
http://www.webalice.it/zoiluk/Mobile.jpg

these tests have been done on P4c800 Rev1.04 the multiplier stays blocked to X14 and Cpu he does not read the real frequencies I would like to understand if with the new Rev2.0 and an up-to-date Bios I could have it read correctly to the system

sorry for my english,thanks

No, even with a p4c800 dlx rev 2.0 and the last bios cpu-z doesn't read the real frequencies, i have test a lot of programe for my 1.6 mobile and only Crystalmark read the real frequencies.

My multiplier is set to 12x, and i have test a few things to change it to 16x, and no result, certainly because desktop motherbord don't have speedstep.

But you have an ES and normally, you can change the multiplier in the bios, try the last bios for your board and if you have no result, i think it's because your cpu is in "low consomation mode", and i don't know how you can run it in "normal mode".

System won't let you change the multi since it's a mobile chip. Stays locked at 14. Intel Mobile ES chips are worthless.

cannot I so change the multiplier even if my Cpu is an ES? :(

however in default this Cpu is 133 X24, why I read it X14?

mobile Intel chips default to the 14x multi in desktop board (their lowest avilable multi)
