Which of these psu's wins? I think I have some power problems with my system, so a well deserved psu upgrade from my 400w vantec ion is required.

OCZ Powerstream 520w - £100
Antec 550w TrueControl - £82
Antec 480w TrueBlue - £65
Antec NeoPower 480w - £78

suggest more if u think so? All prices include VAT

:)

edit: Move this to the cases forum please :( Sorry.

OCZ or Antec True Control

That is really what I was thinking, is the OCZ worth the £££ over the Antec? (For compatability I guess? )

OCZ is the top of that list.

Anandtech
"A superb example of a power supply geared to overclockers is the new OCZ Power Stream 520. It was designed from the ground up for overclockers, and features individual rails that are even tweakable for higher output or exact values. There are even LEDs on the rear of the black chrome case that tell you if the PS is operating in spec, under spec, or over spec. These same LEDs can even be used to tweak individual rails for optimum power. 520W sounds like a lot of power and it is, but truthfully, this power supply would probably be rated at 700 watts by a manufacturer who was trying to impress with specs. The 520W rating is conservative and this PS can easily handle almost anything an overclocker wants to throw at it. While the OCZ Power Stream are new to the market, they have quickly become favorites of the extreme overclocking community."

"Despite being OCZ’s first ever power supply, the PowerStream simply obliterates the competition from the biggest names in power supplies. The Antec NeoPower 480 and Enermax Noisetaker 470 don’t offer any sort of voltage adjustment, have weaker +12V rails, don’t have the gorgeous finish, and cost more than the OCZ. Long the overclocker’s choice for memory, OCZ is now the overclocker’s choice for power supplies as well. Very highly recommended."

Zippy! They have really nice rails and apparently they have 3.3 / 12V trim pots inside.

I ordered a OCZ 520 just now :P I was going to order the 510 Deluxe because it had the sleeved wires, but I already have a sleeving kit so I figured why not just try the OCZ.

I did some looking around the forums and the net on the OCZ Powerstream 520W and i now, as of this morning, have it in my hands ready to go into my case. There are a lot of opinions in other forums on here about the fortron and the OCZ. The fortron is considerably cheaper but if you look at most of the xtreme guys on here they all have the OCZ which weighed heavily in my choice and the fact you can adjust the rails from the back.

The PSU has a 5 year warranty as well just in case i fry something :D

i'd say OCZ, if 520W is too exp, den get the 470. Equally as good for the price.

Judging from what others say about them, my vote goes for the OCZ.
