It was on the SLK-800 HS

I had a 50cfm fan that I took off my AX-7. and I'm 5 to 6 C cooler than with the AX-7

With my 2100+ at 2200 or 1.8GHz(1.8v) this HS is by far the best I've tried (and I think I've tried them all) :). The temps are low 40's rather than close to and exceeding 50 with AX-7 or ST462

Also used As3 on all of them so It's defintely the HS making the difference

The SLK-800 truely is a great heatsink.

Glad to hear you're happy with it :)

with the slk 800 and a 92mm tornado im able 2 push over 2ghz with my 1600+. it does own :D

2 Gig? no way!

92mm fan Hhmmmmm. Those fan clips are great aren't they?
What cfm do you recommend? to get to 2GHz?

And It'll fit with no problems width wise ?

I think my memory is holding me back at this point . Just bought 2* 256 Geil ultra 3500 yesterday so we'll see.

Your probably saying "why didn't you just get 1 512" right?

Well I'm planning on getting an nForce2 mainboard and utilizing th e dual DDR option and I'll need 2 sticks for that.

Why Geil? On an AMD system and not Corsair 3500c2PT?

I talked to 5 tech support of system builders in the most popular OC sites reguarding these to types of memory on AMD systems using 2 sticks and all said Geil is definately better and specifically that they found many systems would not boot with Corsair

so

so what, right?

I'll let you know how it goes

I don't know why I didn't do this before - like when I put this system together a year ago

I always figured I was CPU bound with my 2100+ only doing 1781 (13x137) and would get flaky at 13x138.

I tried cranking up the vcore to get it to run stable. I thought to myself that I had good ram (Crucial 512x1) so maybe my processor was getting too hot (50 - 55). So I lowered the vcore to 1.775 and it ran fine at 1781

I guess the tell tale sign was when my ram wouldn't run 2252 1T unless I was giving her 2.8 (2.93 hardware monitor)

After I installed the SLK-800 I figured I'd give OCing another try. It still wouldn't at 138 FSB with any stability, but the CPU temp was low 40's even at 1.85 vcore.

So when I got home today I relaxed all memory timings and tried it one last time. <drum roll please>

Rocksolid stable 13x141 1.85vcore and the temp will refuse to go any higher than 47c! And could go higher since I never really found the ceiling on the processor Awesome.
Makes me really want to kick myself for running like that for a year when all I needed was some performance ram.

And It's comming tomorrow :)

Well I'm at 13*143 or 1864MHz now.....
Ran 3 itirations of the SolidWorks benchmark and no stability problems at all-, of course the scores sucked

How did you mount a 92 mm fan on the heatsink since the largest they accomidate is a 80 mm fan? I know I have 3 of them. 2 of them are on my K7D Master dual processor board and another is on my KD7-Raid board for break-in/testing before I hook up the phase change cooling to it. That would be a good trick to see that fan hooked up to it since it is wider than the top of the heatsink and the clips don't even begin to reach the top or the fan. I am using the 84.1 cfm tornado's and I am very happy with the performance.
I just put 1 of my pal8045's on my AT7 board, and I am going to try it with a 120mm fan and one of the fan adapters and see if it outperforms the SLK800.

Ended up lastnight stable at 144*13 or 1877MHz

Got the new ram today, put it in , set all the mem timings to max 2-2-5-2-1T and runs like a champ

My new scores for Solidworks ... Giving those P4 2.8's a run for their money :)

i belive u can mount a 92mm by turning the fan so that the clip dosent clip to the side it clips to the corners...I hear you can get 2 gigs using a 92mm tornado...but you will go deaf....i think most people are using 1600+ agoia 0213-Y's and someone did it with a 1700+ tbred..

Im also going to be getting my 462+ (not U) in tomarrow and ill post my results here when i test it out..im currently using the slk-800

I put a MC462A on a XP1600+ with my KX7R an runs 1800 @ 1.75v stable. Runs 1830 @ 1.75v just browsing internet but locks in 3d games. I am using the Thermaltake Smart Fan 2 on it an max temp 48C. When I had the water cooling on it run 1900 @ 1.85v. But I haven't pushed it yet with the air cooling.

the 92mm fits just like a 80mm. the lil arms are stretched a little bit but it mounts just like the 80mm tornado.

I wasn't aware of that. Good info there, should I ever need to purchase an SLK-800.

Definitely an amazing heatsink.

i have a smartfan2 control thing on it cause that 92mm is 1 loud mofo. still running the fan @ 2800 rpm's(which is quite silent), my temps are about 44-48c full load(depends on room temp) at 1.9ghz.:)
