I've got an Apple USB keyboard I want to use on a pc. XP detects and installs it, but it says there was a problem and under device manager it says the device couldn't start.

Any ideas??

I just updated the bios to the last version, and still have the same prob.
Is there any way to fix this? Or is my OB usb just dead??

..Just a thought bro, do you have another rig handy?? plug it in that... try another mobo.

From hupperware

Hupperware says:
XP needs the mobo drivers to install a USB hub that is matted to the mobo Mine says Asustek USB Controller Before I installed the driver, it didn't work The problem is USB 2.0
XP doesn't handle it without drivers

Smizack
10-29-2002, 11:37 PM
yes they are... damnit....

This is why motherboards ship with a little CD that have magic things on them called drivers. Install the motherboard drivers and XP will establish the connection.

The problem stems from USB 2.0. XP came out well before the new standard and wasn't ready for mobos with USB 2.0 mounted to them.

Go Here: (http://www.soyousa.com/downloads/selectresults.php?language=&col1=Proc_AMD+Athlon+XP%2C+T-Bird%2C+Duron&col2=108&col3=Driver)

that has your drivers...

Your whole problem stems those three little letters... not USB but AMD and VIA

Should have bought Intel

Hupperware
10-29-2002, 11:44 PM
The VIA 4 in 1 driver should do it...

USB 2.0 and XP (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q329632)

Do you have XP SP1? Don't worry about your device not working, the problem lies in the Generic Hub. Right click on that and have it search the internet for the driver.

crtl-option delete {delete is below help}

the apple key is the windows key

USB hub in the keyboard is non operational since I have been unable to locate driver. NBD

I have not found the "prt scrn" button

The volume/mute buttons work abd the CD open button does not work.

Overall a very nice keyboard, super smooth and low profile. Most excelent for counter strike.

NEEDS LEDS!

I found most of the stuff.. But Below my help is the Num lock key. And ctrl+option+num lock does nothing.

I'm getting an El cable for mine. And they are quite nice.
