Hi, since I'm getting a IQYHA 2600+ XP-M I'm curious about if the new XP-Ms are still as good as the old ones, anyone bought an xp-m last days ?

Most people still seem to be getting 2.5+ out of them but you dont see to many over 2.7. I just picked a new one up from newegg but i cant test it till I get my vid card back from RMA.

you guys speaking of random xp-m or random 2600+ or IQYHA and AQYHA 2600+ ?
and what voltage we're talking off ? Most users are wussies ang give them only 1.85v or so, that doesn't count for me! :D

I bought a IQYHA 0427 chip a couple weeks ago, Im running it on a NF7-S v2 (no mods) It overclocks like Mad, but i cant get it over 2.8, running in the high 2.7's is easy, I can clock this thing higher than my XP3200

I need 2 update my sig, now running 2 raptors, pny6800GT, 1gig KhXpc4000 8-3-3-3

you might wanna make the move to s939 a64 winchester, I hit 2.6GHz on mine and its the old school 130nm newcastle, this is as high as moble bartons LOL

Hey Sai! How did you kill your 2600+?

condensation. I tried running my XP with ultra low voltage and I think this was a bit too cool for the nventiv sealstring.
;)

@GF4Ti4200

If you give me the money I'll switch to A64. So think about it ..

dont have enough of my own and besides you can get an a64 for a few $ more than another moble barton. Heck get sempron if you must

Are you kidding me ? I'd rather die then getting a Sempron

I posted in another thread on what mobile barton to put some money down on as well. Friend of mine just gave me his ASUS A7N8X Ultra and i figured i could drop some change on a good chip for it. From what someone else said in another thread ....

The Mobils are much better then the others and they are unlocked(!!).
My XP-M do 2800MHz @ 1,87V on water.
Try to get an Mobile with IQYHA MPMW/XPMW/RPMW from 0351 to 0406,
FQQ4C in Stepping is the most important, its the 45W 1,45V one.

Good Luck :)

I still need to find out which one to order and where. I usually get everything from newegg but if the week/stepping has to be specified i don't think they do that :(

At ebay.de you can order IQYHA 2600+ for 100euro. But you can't choose the substepping. Maybe if you drop an email to the seller, he'll select you one. I heard the best substepping is XPMW

Have you heard anything specific about the 35w one's vs. the 45w. I've seen a lot of ppl say get the 35w one but someone else said it wasn't the right socket yet it does say socket A. I'm confused heh.

sai
10-06-2004, 07:39 AM
err you mean the 2400+ 35watt ? they fit ..

damn this f&$%in son of a peach doesn't answer my question at ebay, this could take a while until I get my xp-m

If you had to pick a 35w vs 45w which one would you get? I'm about to head to fry's tomorrow and pick me up one hopefully and if not i'll just order it online and take my chances.

A few posts up you'll see some steppings mentioned that are supposedly really good " IQYHA MPMW/XPMW/RPMW from 0351 to 0406 ".

is the sempron really slower than the barton? wonder why shade00 bought one if your moble barton crushes it

sai
10-06-2004, 04:27 PM
why the :banana::banana::banana: you're talking about semprons now, that's definitely not the right place here, thanks !

WildKard
10-06-2004, 04:38 PM
A socket 754 Sempron crushes any Socket A CPU easily(probably because of the ondie memory controller), SocketA sempron is just a thoroughbred B though and sucks

I sold my 2600+ that clocked over 3ghz easily in prommy to Popcicle on the forsale forums...havent seen him around in a while...I wonder where he went :)

It was just a random chip, I dont think you should have much trouble hitting 3ghz in a prommy with any random 2600+

Sai... are you still running on NF7S? Where is the A64 board? :stick:

Here some Vcore mod if you having undervolting issue

just pencil down resistor number 3 (circle with yellow in the pic)....

it will Overvolt the Vcore in no time :banana4:

hmmm undervolting on NF7 ? You can set the VCore to 2.3v via Bios, what do you mean ?

I have it too with my board, 1.7V bios setting yields ~1.65 real V

sai
10-07-2004, 03:07 PM
so why not just upping the voltage to 1.75v

my XP2600+ IQYHA 0353 MPMW FQQ4C, it's a mad OCer! (compared to an ATHLON XP)
but though the MAX is 2.8GHz on AIR!! @ 2.0v vcore! with SP-97 @ 92mm Tornado. :D
a good speed for 24/7 use is: 12x225MHz=2.7GHz @ 1.875v actual (1.9 in BIOS) (L12 mod, NF7-S rev2.0 "OLD" with D26 BMXT BIOS) 3DMARK01 @ 20K with Radeon 9800 PRO R360 @ XT BIOS (http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8174132) :D
i didn't try my WaterCooling setup yet, but i don't think that it would change anything! :( almost all XP-M's MAXes @ 2.8GHz else if you use Phase cooling.

BTW, it's for sale!! :( i must catch the A64 train! :D :D :banana4:

OK I just killed the CPU, it's the mofo board that kills my cpus. What to do now, I got NO money left ?!

sai
10-11-2004, 07:59 AM
Yep it has exactly the same burning marks as my former Tbred, so it's obvious that it's the board. BTW I broke my NF7 into two pieces, anyone want a half ? I got 2 of it :D :D

naelq

if you mean from where i did buy it?! then, it's from the first XP-M's we got in Israel. it was bought before 6 months. ;)

sai

Why didn't you RMA it?

Cause there was tons of thermal grease, thermal compound, resistors, sinks, and so on. It would have taken days to clean that up.
