Hi guys!

I want to know what you guys think of that (http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=330368&page=1&pp=30) statement.
Some very interesting posts there. Maybe it's true :p:

You might want to check out my thread about the 3.2E D0 being fragile. I have an SL7KC.

I too have an sl7kc.. i think its a fine cpu.. i was easily able to boot at 3.7ghz.. never tried further as it was a bit unstable with my ram..
(i was running my ballistix @ 2-2-2-5-1t and I beleive that was a bit more than 230fsb.. guess id have to do 2.5-2-2-5 from there and up..)

from what i read on the first page.. 2 ppl said they liked the other stepping.. one guy likes the kc.. and the other posts are useless... didnt read the other 16 pages but from what i heard in the past the kc is the better of the 2

Even an EE can do 3.8 with a stock cooler. :P Preshotts are nothing special and all that extra clockage is useless as their pipelines are incredibly long! Now, if they made Pentium III Tualatin's at 3.2GhZ for Socket 478, we would have a decent processor! Since their pipelines are less than half of the prescotts.

I agree with all!

I have a Prescott, but I love Tualatin, I remember that this CPU was really powerful so Intel decided to stop the production of P!!!-S because the P4 Willy isn't more powerful than Tualatin...

I also have a Celeron Tualatin (1000@1500, in the past I have a 1200)for the second rig, eh eh eh!!

its not that the tualatin wasnt powerful enough.. its design just wasnt capable of really high mhz

Best CPU ever created for 478?LOL
NW power - way too less heat (50C in full-load with SP94 or CNPS7000A), less stress for the mosfets, 30% shorter pipeline.
I'm afraid the 30 cappers rock this socket. And they will own prescotts, even on lga775 until intel decides to pop up with a decent processor or lower latencies chipset. This would be the second Tualatin, way too good than the 'next generation' but idiotically dropped. And as Tuallie was kicking AMD ass during its short life, I can face most of A64s sold today with this little guy. History repeating :(

I don't think so.

It wasn't a problem of the CPU, but was a problem of the chipset, I saw Celly Tualatin over 1800MHz, yeah it's not the same of a P!!!-S but I see also this one @ 1600.

I gotta get a couple of 1.4 Tualatin's one day and do a dual p3 system. Then I will TEC cool them both and get down to some good ol socket 370 overclocking :)

True. Tualatin > Preshott. That one simple equation, however small it may be, is true.
