so, after seeing disappointing 2k5-results with my gf6800ultra i want to compare the shaderspeed of both cards (man, it can't be, that there is a 1k-difference with same-fast gpus! - and com'n guys: there isn't one faster then the other....they are both same fast and good performer...)

i want to ask someone, that he could run shadermark v2.1 (available @ guru3d for example) who has following cpu-config (want to have all possibilities of changed results eraesed...)

A64 Newcastle @ 8x250MHz (1:1)

GPU @ stock-speed

i've following results @ the benchmark with forceware v66.70

Well they were even.. until ATI's latest drivers were were much more drastic than Nvidia's. Hopefully Nvidia releases an updated driver.

p4zif1st:

There are certainly not even. They are completely different architectures. One is better suited to some things than the other. Design is a matter of compromise.
If you pay close attention to vertex shader benchs, you'll see that something aint right with nVidia's drivers or hardware. Perhaps that's whats hurting them. Or, it could be a simple matter of 500+Mhz vs 400+Mhz (ie 25% clock advantage).

Hotfix driver? Is this hotfix part of the cat 4.9's?

Hotfix driver? Is this hotfix part of the cat 4.9's?

both 4.9 and the hotfix (the beta driver, 8.07, that will eventually be in the next official drivers) are approved
