Just wondering what a general heat temp your cpu should run stock. Running a 950 duron and 640 megs of ram. I changed power supplys and was playing return to castle wolfenstien and it just cut off so I rebooted and checked the temp on my cpu. It was running at about 39 Degrees celcius and 102 degrees farenheit. I am sure that is to high since before it was running at about 36/85? Is there a program that i can run without rebooting to monitor the heat of my cpu

No actaully that's a pretty good temp. Mine runs at around 42c idle.
Motherboard monitor would be the software you're looking for.

so even if the farenheit temp is like 102 degrees 36 or 42 celcius is cool

Yeah your temps aren't your problem there. their within a respectable range. I'd check the drivers for that game, or your video drivers. I've known others to run theirs at 55c and still be comfortable with that, although that's a little high for me.

thanks. I just got to thinking I added a modem to connect at me mums house and that moved my sound card close to the vid card, Ie umm less than an inch from the vid card fan, that might be a good reason that is cut off.

I don't think that card getting hot is causing your problem either. I never got it even remotely warm.

Check your sound drivers out.

Just one other thought, noticed you said you changed psu's, then had that problem. Are you sure it's not the psu? That could be the culprit.

if you fold for team 3365 your game should stabilize itself within a day or two

Need your assistance on setting it up :) as for the chaintech board now. It is running with the mobo monitor software and running at 39 celcius and 77 farenheight. The only game affected is Return to castle wolfenstien and it just cuts off looks like a r and r for me

You got the latest kyroII drivers right?
What do you have running in the background?

Oh, and turn off virtual memory. You don't need it.
