I've got the PSU that came with my computer and its alright, but my overclocking would go better with a new one...plus my rails enjoy going all the place...So I was wondering what anyone here would recomend.
I've got:
CPU: Athlon XP 2700 needing 1.75vCore...
Hard drives: one 60gb and one 80gb Western Digital hard drives.
Optical drive: one cd burner
Fans: 3x 80mm case fans plus a fan on my heatsink (60mm???)
GeForce FX 5900XT
one USR modem
motherboard A7V600-X

anyone have any ideas on a good PSU... I was thinking Antec, but thought I should get some ideas from you guys. I want something that will help me overclock and be able to support upgrades (hard drives, vid card, RAM, etc)

Thanks :toast:

either 425W pc power and cooling or OCZ equivalent

yeah OCZ or Antec are the big two I've heard about...I just don't like the idea of spending $70 on a PSU :( o'well...I'll need to look in to it some more...

If you replace the bottom 120mm fan for quiet one (my one is not hearable at 2 feet in quiet room with no other stuff at all), then the Antec Neo 480W is a excelent choice for PSU.
I favored it over the OCZ because it have the bottom intake, with is good for airflow - I have no fans in case, this is the only one :)
Hardwired at 7V and working great.
12V raild give me 18 + 15 (33A!!!) and Im more that happy with it.

Allow my this:

quiet isn't a very big thing here. My HSF sounds like a jet when i turn it up and my other fans ain't quiet.
