Where did these 850 extra users come from? (usually there's 140ish people on)

peaked at 1270 so far, The Server was getting [H]ammered, hardocp linked the 6ghz thread on there front page... no bug...

It did slow down the server, quite a bit. Nothing it couldn't manage though. I probably added to it by just opening all the sections i visit in tabs.

IIRC, the old server that recently crashed was when it was bombarded with 1000 users heh

and Fugger hasn't even properly recompiled the smp linux kernel to see the 2nd virtual cpu too :D
