hi,

i got a problem with my system, it´s n P4 2,533 with 256MB 16bit PC1066 Kingston memory and a Asus P4T533-C (Bios 1008). The cpu is cooled by chip-con Prometeia. The system does not use any pci slots (usb Extigy), the agp slot owns a leadtek 250 Ti4600. the pc is powered by enermax 550W.

I want to tweak my pc, but i got some problems. If i put the RDRAM Multi to 4x windows crashes, at 3x everything works fine. The next Problem is that i can´t adjust the multi. of the cpu (19x). the max FSB the bios offers is 150/38x19=2,85GHz. (this works without any problems). My question is how can i adjust the multi. and how can i start windows with RDRAM @4x. Bios is updated to 1008. (at this settings the bios data shows -7,5C and the Disp shows -39C)

hope sombody can help me,
thanks

PS: Sorry for my bad english ;-)

Welcome to Xtreme. ;)
You can't change the multiplier on Intel cpu's.
Not all boards and rimms can run 150x4. Try to see if it runs at 140x4 f.e., run some benchmarks to test stability. If it runs fine at 140x4, increase the FSB in little steps (RDRAM still @ x4) and test it again. Go on like this until you reached the max FSB the rimms can run at x4.
Your temps seems ok, BTW.

put the memory in 3x mode. With a 533 MHz FSB chip the 4x ratio is pretty much wasted. You wont get 150x4 so its useless to hold your chip back because of this. Increase the Vcore to like 1.75-1.80 volts and then your 2533 should reach at LEAST 3.2-3.3 GHz in 3x mode. This will give you much better performance than 4x mode at lower CPU speeds.

I thought the P4T533-C could only go to 150FSB. Or am I wrong?

Liwijatan,

Welcome to Xtreme :)

If you are limited to 150FSB then your only option for obtaining higher CPU overclock will be to make/purchase a TurboPLL. I'm sorry, I don't know much about them ;)

i thought with jumpers u can go to 156mhz FSB

Hi Hoo

first i want to thank you guys for the answers.

The Problem is that my system wont start up in 4x mode (133/33). but that is no big problem, i want to tweak this lady to the limit (FSB) and that is only possible in 3x mode.
I want to push the fsb higher than 150 (system runs rock stable @150 with 1,5V), thats my really biggest problem. At Dip (Jumper) i can only go to 140, at bios the limit is set to 150. This is really poor.
I have seen some guys with running this system by 3,2-3,9 GHz how is this possible ?!? Two of them got the same system setup (2,533 Kingston pc1066 Asus P4T533C).
Is there a chance to unlock the cpu (last system was a athlon xp, closed bridges). Or is there a way to get a bios with more tweaking options (what is a turboPLL???).

thx and bye,
Liwijatan

PS: my Ti4600 ends by 310/725 (Leadtek Ultra250) is this ok, where do you ran the ti4600 ?!?

Gruß and welcome to xtreme,
ok Turbo Pll is putting a new PLL unit (set the core and FSB speed) on the mobo. Hard stuff, but Holicho has some good pictures about it. http://holicho.lib.net is the adress, use babelfish to translate it, I would give you some advices in German but I don't know a lot about it.
