Newegg has a 3000+, 3200+ and 3400+ DTR's (same as mobiles) 1mb L2 1.8ghz to 2.2ghz resp AR (CG) stepping is what people are getting regardless of what the egg says they are

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduct.asp?catalog=343&DEPA=1&submit=property&mfrcode=0&propertycode=&propertycodevalue=4954

they're scattered around in there, $197, $213, $288resp...

the 3400+ dtr at newegg is a C0... personally i'd go with an amn3400bix5ar over the dtr of ama3400bexap at newegg coz true mobiles only req 1.4 volts and has a lower heat output. as you can see they are not "same as mobiles."

Arkangyl

read the reviews, everyone is saying that all the newegg mobiles are CG's regardless what the egg says; they've gotten pretty bad at having the actual code up on their site...

I thought DTR was just desktop chips without heatspreader where as the mobile chips are low power consumption, thus less heat, so more headroom for overclock. :D

the amn3400bix5ar can be found around $420 cdn from this vancouver store.

As I recall the only difference between mobiles and DTR is mobiles run at a lower voltage.

True, DTR are not true Mobile chips in the sense of power draw and heat output.

They are desktop replacement chips (more like Pentium 4-M on the Intel side), whereas real mobile chips have much lower power draw between 20-30W (more like Pentium M on the Intel side).

Still, an interesting chip.

I wonder if they'll keep on producing DTR and mobile chips for s754 or will those go s939 as well?

Sorry to dig this up, but the differences are:
A64 DTR - 1.5v - Identical to desktop with 'CG' core revision, which makes it run @ 81w vs 89w. Lacks heatspreader, hoorah.
A64 Transportable - 1.4v - Choice pick. Runs @ 62w
A64 Low-Power - 1.2v - Choice pick Newcastle. Runs @ 35w and clocks are lower. 1.8GHz is the highest stock.

[offtopic warning]
Warning about ITButiken: They send me the wrong stuff two times in a row.

They have incompetent people in their shipping department, they are lousy at customer service and returns.

It's the worst mail order company I've ever dealt with. And I've dealt with over a hundred in my life :)

My advice: look elsewhere.

shg? Sorry, I don't think I know that one. I have only ordered from itbutikken once before, and that was a 2400 35w mobile. It went okay, I got what I ordered, so no complains yet.

www.shg.dk - Biggest shop in DK - Lets just leave it with that. Some shop are good others aren´t so dont shop at them.

[on topic] I am thinking about buying the 3400. I´ll let you guys know the results :)

This isn't Winchester, this is a S754 3400+ 1MB 130nm Mobile chip (True mobile, not the DTRs that they've had for a while)

That being said, the 3700+ is still probably the S754 leader, though I'm betting these probably clock 2.5-2.6 on good air nicely...
