Has anyone been brave enough to try the Albatron 845PEV Pro?
I realize albatron's mb branch is new and all, but they seem
to have put out some nice stuff in that area...

anandtech.com gave that board in particular a good review...

Its got 3com lan, 4 usb 2.0 ports.. and it's only $95 at newegg,
so it's a lot cheaper than the other 845pe boards are right now...

just curious...

Yeah- i've also read all good about them lately. I'm gonna try to see if i can pick one up at a dealer tomorrow to test. I know the dealer has the 845E and 845G versions, not sure if he has the new 845PE yet.

I just ordered one from newegg today for $95...

I'll be sure to post some results ;)

Let us all know what you guy think about it.
I have my eyes on it too.
I´ve heard that 2persons of 12 have problems with tha R9700Pro and the PX845PEV Pro .

I saw that it OC a P4 2,26 to 2,83 at default Vcore
that´s very good atleast ebtter than the Asus P4PE

Well- i'm still playing with this mobo. it's pretty decent-I seem to be suffering from a little warm reboot issue at the moment. Just running 166 fsb x 2.66 mem. Solid and stable so far, clocks a hair lower than mt IT7 right now. Still tweaking.

that´s great. do you have any problem with your R9700Pro ?
Some people that i seen at the Forums have a problem (2 of 10)

Is the Mobo stable?
Is this mobo better than the Asus P4PE or the Abit BE7 ?

Let us all know all the things about the mobo.

Big up for you man

OK- this Albatron is very stable---and no radeon issues for me. My warm boot issue is due to my scsi raid card getting a little warm.
I'm on a silent pc kick right now, and once I've added a small fan to cool the raid adapter everything is good. I managed to pull off a 17775 3dmark just a minute ago @ 166 fsb using 3:4 strap.
That's comparable to my IT7 Max2. CPU temps seem accurate and correspond with the readings on my digidoc. i'll test true temps with my Fluke later on.
I can't seem to get over 166-167 on this board though, and I don't really know if it's my processor or the board, as the only 2 P4's I have to test are my 2.66 C1 which was running 170 fsb on a first version IT7, and my 2.53 which would only run about 158-160 fsb. I can say if someone is running a higher multi, lower fsb type cpu (like my 2.53) this board rocks for the money. i paid $125 for the 845PE Pro II.
I'm going to install one of my Abit's to see what is limiting my overclock.

Well, I've been using the 845PEV Pro for 2 days now...
Mine's a dud...

It won't take aggressive mem timings, and it won't do
above 167fsb..... I have a hunch this is intentional and that
albatron only designed it to run up to 166-ish for bragging
rights......

I'm RMA'ing this sucker for an epox 4pea+....
newegg finally started stocking them....

board looks nice, does it have agp/pci lock??

libertate

it's got the agp/pci lock, but I don't
recomend this board at all....

the bandwidth efficiency is terrible,
because it won't take aggressive
timings.... 3dmark isn't so great either....

it acts like a SiS board... 167fsb max
no matter what temp......

Another board to avoid then. Hope you have better luck with the 4PEA+.
