whats the best resevoir out there. ....or does it really matter at all which one it is. I don't know which one to get at all.
i need suggestions please. thanks

I have no idea which is the best, but i love my dual 5 and a half inch bay res from frozen cpu. The plexi is thick as hell and the barbs are great. No way it will leak. It also has really high capacity. Having a bit more water in the system helps a bit to slow down the increase in water temp.

it is small but does the job. i like it because i can mount it on the floor of my case right before the pump with just a strip of industrial strenght velcro
i just use a 4 gallon plastic jug thingy for my res. gets the job done
The best (http://www.dangerden.com/mall2/more_3pics.asp?fmmore=245) functioning one anyway. Might not be pretty but it'll never crack and should bleed quicker than any other res due to it's lower outlet chamber.

Um, that one is the swiftech one. I guess danger den decided to jack it. Or.... some other company makes it and danger den and swiftec are just rebadging it. Kind of like the danger den and swiftec pump. Either way, it really doesnt add any funcionality other than being made out of a more reseliant material.
As far as bleeding goes, the plexi 5 1/2 inc bay res' bleed insanely fast. My system got all the air out of it in a mater of seconds. It took less than one minute to completely get all the air out of the system. Granted I have an incredibly high flow pump and my res is the highest point in the system (as it always should be), it was incredibly fast.

a 5" section of 3" diameter copper pipe with copper end caps brazed on each end, 5/8" OD brass barbs (1/2"ID) fittings drilled and tapped into the side wall of the pipe (sealed with silver solder), modified brass brake line bleed screw tapped into the top tank to bleed off air, 1/4" radiator drain :banana::banana::banana::banana: added near the base of the end cap to drain it when needed.
I guess if you wanted to get fancy, you could add a 1/4" thick plexi porthole to the top of it with and a LED so you could see the water swishing around. :)

I make my own reservoir of copper tube, fittings and solder :D
This one is 20cm 28mm tube with 4x 1/2" connecters for various setups.
The top and bottom plates are from the same pipe. Just saw a piece of pipe (4cm long) and then saw it in half. Make 2 flat plates of it with a hammer. Then solder :D.
Then saw and sand the top/bottom plate.
After sanding the hole thing:

^nice. that should be very close to bulletproof - there will never be any concerns of cracking, leaking or galvanic corrosion probs with that one. :)

I like my dual floppybay res fine. its not very high up in my system but it bleeds fast and does the job. But, if I ever bother to house my cooling externally, I might try a fishtank full of icecubes hehe.

what happens when the icecubes melt. Ive never quite understood the obsession with putting ice in water. and what happens if somehow the pump sucks up an ice cube... lol... and yes i know if you set it up right that wont happen as ice cubes float, but it is still somethign to think about.

I also use the FrozenCPU Dual 5 1/4" bay res, and it works great, costs little, and looks snazzy. Also, on the swifty/dangerden res, dtek also offers it and there is no benefit of getting that, really.

well the dangerdne swifty dtek one are less prone to leaking i suppose. less seals. but that is about it.... its fugly...

You run ice water just for max overclocking/benching runs. Or if in a northern state just open a door or window in the winter for much the same effect.
Love the copper res. Been thinking of making one, but I had it in mind to use T fittings. The res of 1.5 or 2" copper, with a T fitting that branches off a 3/4" to the pump.

I like the fass-o-matic by innovatek. Really cool design and made to fit either in a 80cm hole w/o the bracket, or with an optional 5.25" bay adapter it fits in the front bays. You can get a temp sensor for it and a LED to illuminate it from the inside. Really cool looking and easy to use. Their tank-o-matics are pretty killer too.
