Well i'm getting a 3.2e very soon.. Ill probably try to make it into 14x multiplier sometime down the road ;) Its going to be coupled with pc4000 ballistix and one of these motherboards...

asus p4p800 ($114)
abit ic7-max2 ($135)
abit AI7 ($110)

Pick one and give me a reason why you chose it over the others.... btw if someone knowledgeable can tell me, what are all the differences betweeen ic7 and AI7, all i know is 865 on ai7 and 5 pci slots :p:

Ai7 > P4P800 imo.

i switched from p4p800 to Ai7 for the 3.2vdimm out of box, its a nice board.

never used ic7's.

yea thats one of the reasons Im leaning very highly towards abit.. 2.5-3.2v out of the box is great... who needs ocz booster or vdimm mods when you got that ;)

Ai7 is is7 with a few layout changes and Uguru I believe. Apparently it has more voltage options as well.

Ai7 is to IS7 what AN7 is to nf7-s perhaps.

MAX3...better vmem options...and I am just about ready to start selling the OCZ Booster add-on to take care of VTT...

Another vote for the AI7. Best out of the box mobo out of those three.

So AI7 has better memory adjustable voltage then the IC7?

I heard from other people... well they were on futuremark  but still they bring a semi-interesting argument..

they say, the AI7 is designed mostly with northwoods in mind and that the mosfet on a presscott will be Very hot, and overclocking would make them hotter... whats the story behind that.. Its actually made me slightly lean away from AI7 and back towards max2.. (max3 although its got nice otes and fet sinks, is $180!! way too much for some 40mm fan and 3 fet sinks)

I plan to put ramsinks on the mosfet/power regs either way.. trying to guarantee at least 3.7ghz on air out of this 3.2e ;)

well i vote IC7 cause ive had two prescott chips and both of them ran awsome on my IC7. i had no problems with mosfets over heating or any other of the problems the prescott brings to the table. i was able to run 280 1:1 using a pair of ddr500 adata and a 3.0e with this mb. mind you this is all on a stock IC7 with no mods too....

peace perc,
