bachus_anonym

i'm not sure if everything was implememnted that was talked about in the previous thread but that's what it looks to me like:

DDR Maximizer with "vtt tracker" and maybe "Vcore Maximizer" built in :) and it might connect from one of those green connectors to PCB that is inserted into DIMM slot... i just wonder what is that other wire that comes out of it... maybe the one that one solders to Vcore IC so the Maximizer works wonders for vcore too :)

EDIT: no, i was wrong... no Vcore Maximizer :(

- first 2 posts show how it raises vdimm with switches
- next one shows MIN and MAX using trimmer - switches OFF
- next is VTT tracking
- next one shows raising vdimm on DDR2 up to 2.4V
- and the last one shows vdimm on DDR2 at 3v (!) with trimmer.

excellent piece of work, hipro4 :toast:

Thanks...... :)

I have some ideas about them too.......Also saaya gave ne a good idea too....... ;)

.......BUT for the other ideas you HAVE to solder cables on the mobo so as to work........

One idea is - the same panel - which will feed the Northbridge (Vchip) and the VAGP and maybe become ONE idea so as with the same panel we could feed our VGA card with four cables soldered so as to control via panel of caurce the : Vcore of the VGA card , the Vmem(Vdimm) , the Vddq , and whatever needs voltages on our VGA cards......PLUS the Northbridge and the Vagp of our mobo........Future dreams..... :)

dont care about the color of leds mine can be pink :D the color i interested is the color of ram when it get 4.22 lol :D

hipro5
09-17-2004, 02:47 AM
Some technical info :

Can produce up to 4.22 Volts and up 2.11 Volts separate each other.....

The - max - 4.22 Volts line can produce 25+ A (actually 29 A)......and 34+ A at 3.6 Volts output......A total of 125 Watts power for this line......

The - max - 2.11 Volts line can produce 18+ A (actually 19 A)......and 22+ A at 1.8 Volts output......A total of 40 Watts power for this line......

They are both short cirquit protected and overvoltage protected....

The mainboard(the one on the photos given above) is also thermal protected by it shelf......

At load of 25 A one line and 6 A the other line , it produces about 52 - 54*C of heat.....We are gonna play with 12 A and 3 A max with 2 x 512MB Ram sticks so you'll encode no problem..... ;)

You can feed with this thing , TWO computers at the SAME time , thas 4 x 512MB Rams sticks......It's capable of giving this watage with "joy" IF your PSU's 5Volts line is strong enough to feed it..... :D

NOMATTER what PSU you have , you'll get the max 4.22Volts for REAL and NOT maybe 3.7 or 3.8 or 3.9 or 4.0 or 4.1 or we will see......You'll GET them...... ;) :)

The whole box will be a 3.5" bay and it will consists of pure alouminum of 1.5mm fatness which will be the heatsing as well as the masiff aluminum where the transistors and the Mos-Fets are screwed on......

That's for now......and we will continue........ :D :toast:

E D I T 1. : The front panel face will be in black and alouminum Lian-Lee colors - anodized......
The PCB's will be black with gold(or something like that) letters and components drawing......

E D I T 2. : The MAX voltage faulse at full load a.k.a. 25 A is 10mVolts...... ;)

Looks beautiful... Have you done any testing with it and 2x512 sticks on motherboards to see how well it works? If it feeds/reads through the dimm slot like the OCZ booster, I noticed it KILLED my rams overclockability on both boards I tried it in. (Even with 3.2vdimm, ram couldn't clock as high as with 2.8vdimm).

:D

It "plays" +/- 10mV at full load at 25 A.......Is that good or not.?.....Ex......We have picked the 3.65Volts...It goes - sometimes - 3.64 to 3.66 Volts.....I don't think a +/- 10mVolts are that bad!.... ;) :)

I - yesterday evening - tested as a full and complete device and not the pcb's and parts on air as I did when I was expirament on it on my ABIT IC7 mobo and I must tell you that I am the happiest man(overclocker) on this world.... :D

Memtest-86 errorfree with DUAL DDR on a full moded IC7 , I was at 265MHz with 2-5-2-2 - Streetracer - Enhanced - 4 - Enable - Enable......Now I did 270MHz DUAL DDR with those settings(ppl with IC7 know how "hard" are those settings to play with)......at 3.65Volts......You see IC7 over 3.53Volts it's not stable.....The Vdimm can go from 3.51 to 3.58 Volts..Thats a pboblem coz the VTT is stable and it doesn't follow the Vdimm....Maximizer DID it's job PERFECT.....Problem now is that I've almost killed my CPU - about a month now - by feeding it with 2.1VCore and CPU can't go any higher so I have to RMA it to get a new one.....BUT I'll stuck up my ES P4 Northy to see how the whole system will go....Temperature on the Maximizer with 2 x 256MB Rams at full-full-full load , was 30*C with a 26*C room temp... :D

Im studying the pics on how much is prebuilt if any and how clean it is. I tried my hand at etching some boards myself, and breadboards in the past. When i was 17 i had a job soldering small parts @ a Solar cell manufacturing plant in the summer.

That's a lot of fine work that's done in their and over doing it. Hopefully the build quality for the retail units will match that.

Nice, very nice. Come on Hipro, a little bit of modding ain't gonna hurt anyone, lol. I hope that by future you mean months soon, not years, lol.

Also, would be nice to be able to hook up the motherboard power supply to the panel to get it in shape and by the way the panel looks like, it's not gonna have a problem doing that too. :D

hahaha.

ABIT IC7 series and ASUS P4C800 series......BUT I'm consentrating more these days for the stability of the Maximizer.........I managed to drop a little bit it's +/- 10mVolts at full load of 25A to only +/- 1.5 to 2 mV*( * 70
*C internal temp)...... :D

So with a multimeter you can read at ANY load up to 25A , 3.60Volts.........and NOTHING more or less......I think I can stop now about the stabilisation thing......It's OK.....You have to have a more than 3 1/2 digits multimeter to see the differencies.....

This week will be the testings on other mobos too..... ;)

The BIG IC you can see on my design(photos) it's similar as OCZ's one........

This is ONLY a GENERAL perpuse IC to READ ONLY the Voltages........It's noones pattent(exept the company's that has design it).......You can find it EVERYWHERE on planet and even MOST of you have one into you cheepy or not multimeter.......This is the ICL7107 IC 3 1/2 digits for driving Led Displays.........Into your multimeter (go ahead and unscrew it) you will have the ICL7106 which is for driving an LCD ......SO keep your mind away about this and some short of pattent ....... :)

LOL yah right. This will cost minimum $100 and that is only if he gets them made in large batches. Just look at the components on there that we see now. He hasn't even show the piece that feeds the motherboard. If its a copy of the OCZ one and it uses a dimm PCB that's more money

Hi there guys......... :D

1. The price will be over 100 Euros that's for sure coz there are too many components in the cirquit.......

2. Some changes on mainboard for now and VERY future applies took place.........You'll buy something today and you'll have it for many years and with many setups........So I think that the price will be OK and I'll trying to "squiz" it us much as possible......... :)

3. The users from : a. Thelab.gr b. Xtremesystems and c. Xtremerecources will have a discount....... :D

4. Me and OCZ working on a "formula" so as to figure out how this product will come out without harming anyone (OCZ or anyone else) as for legal issues etc......Of course if it finally works out , the credit will go to : Ryan from OCZ for his help and patient , saaya for his help and someone who did help a lot..... ;) :)

5. I've fed my Rams up to 3.82Volts till now........Shi(f)t I'm starting to afraid of the high Voltage - too high - ........ :D

Very nice indeed hipro.

An idea for a future feature would be remote sensing - with long leads running from the unit to vdimm etc, there is going to be some drop across the lines under heavy loads....some remote sense wires for output tracking will sort that out.

One other thing, from my own experience of making small runs of custom pcb's - with the sheer number of hand only solderable components, which robotic assembly machines cannot cope with - productions costs are going to be rather high...unless you plan to hand solder them all yourself, which will take hours per unit.

Robotic assembly nowadays consist of pick and place machines, which mainly handle SMT components only - anything that isn't SMT or bulky, tends to be hand soldered at the end of the production line - if most/all the design is non SMT, costs will be high.

Altho you have probably looked into this side of things anyway.

Thanks for your thoughts......... ;)

Don't worry about assembling coz here in Hellas we have lot's of macines which can assemble either SMD components or "normal" ones....The cost it's about the same.....These are all organized don't worry........

As you propably not read well - or you just missed it - I wrote that the drop from zero Ampers to about 25 Ampers loads was 10mV and after that - with some improvements - it is now - I wrote it down too a long time ago - about 1.5 to 2.5mV.......Everything is taken good care of......... ;)
