I really really like the amount of advertising in the forums here! It really makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Big kudos to FUGGER for not bending under pressure =) If ads were added it wouldn't be the end of the world but i just think it's hella classy without.

I dont care if there are adds or not. If adds are needed to keep the forum alive, then so be it. I would rather have a forum with no adds, then no forum.

But it must suck for 56kers.

It's nice to be one of the few sites on the web without all those blinking banners. :D

So many decent websites (VR Zone for example) are being overrun with crappy adverts. Im glad XS doesnt. Ads slow down my 28.8k connection GRR!

well if they did have ads then FFox could block them plain and simple :P

If XS needs Ads to Run then i fully Support them, but if it were to be just to make extra money then i wouldn't.

damn cheap broadband

For cable here, I have to pay about us$50 and get 12 gigs download only
It's uncapped but max downloads seem to be about 800kilobytes a second

My dual connection (1mbit/512kbit UP DOWN and a 2mbit/1mbit UP DOWN) serves me fine. Unfortunately, due to some unfortunate mishap, the hub for my network is dead (replacement on the way :D). Yes, I could just plug one connection into my network socket, but it makes me crash for some reason. BUT, when I get my new hub, I will pwn with my dual connections! PHEER THEM! Hehehe.

I would rather someone do the reaserch and make informed decision based upon others experiances on whats currently hot.

No external funds are needed, they never were. We use a fraction of the available bandwidth.

You host XS from home don't you? On XR, Kazoo said you were building a new server for XS.

In my opinion you (FUGGER) deserve something for your trouble, as do some of the others working for this site. Quite excellent in my opinion, the lack of ads i mean. Advertising on the web brings so little money sites have to have a LOT of ads in order to make a noticable amount of money.

If there was to be ads i would like for example having links with nice buttons, not banners. Situated just below the navigation-toolbar.
I don't know if this kind of arrangement would yield any money, it would be a non-intrusive kind of advertising though.
Just my 2 öre (like cent in sweden)
