It won't come out of bios since I changed to my 2.4B. For about 20 attempts the 3:4 option was gone too. Then when it reappeared it doesn't work now. Even setting to 1:1 it will hang at next post. Something is majorly wrong.

Will attempt to reflash bios and see if that helps

well when all else fails read the directions. I learned about the hw straping and now it seems ok. But it was being super wierd there for awhile.

The good news is that my new 2.4B is at 165mhz fsb ram at 3:4 at 1.7v 1.66 actual. Will try more after I post this.

well 3.06 or 170mhz fsb wiggs out when it hits desktop and reboots machine. running ram at 1;1 doesn't help so it's cpu limited at this vcore.
Will need to pin trick cpu for more vcore I'm afraid. Cpu will post and get past raid bios at 175mhz fsb or 3.15ghz but stalls before splash screen.

Back to 165mhz fsb or 2978mhz at 1.7v temps at load are 56C per MBM which I find acceptable for Abit bios reading. Will burn in with prime tonight and see if I can inch higher this week but I think the pin trick is in order for 3.06-3.15ghz at 1.75-1.8v aircooled which I don't want to fry the cpu too fast so will keep it somewhat reasonable.

edit: vpin at 1.75 actual and running 3.06 via 170mhz fsb still at 3:4 ram. Running prime now but before vpin it would reboot before I hit desktop right after welcome screen in WinXP

A quite similar problem here: on two IT7s, using any P4 with 533FSB, when mounting PC2100 DDR (I've tried many models with different chips - micron, infineon), it boots corectly only from time to time. In most cases the FSB switch with no reason to 100MHz and I have to change all again in BIOS. With DDR333 and DDR400 it works very fine w/o any hicup.
I used the latest BIOS versions.
Any suggestions? Did anyone else encountered same problems?
