Yes mate it is at 160fsb you can just about notice it but at 170fsb the whole screen's a mess..... I am using the modded BT bios and have also tryed playing with the PCI bus so that at 160fsb it's set in the bios at 66/33mhz using a divider and not the fixed option:confused:

Using the 66/33 locked option makes no difference.... Do you think it's a RMA job?

Yes mate it's a pain in the ass... Looks like that water block and pelt will have to stay in the draw for a bit longer.... Do you use the 3/4 memory settings?

I have no problems at all with my IT7 and 9700. Using the modded BT bios myself, running at 173 FSB and 3:4 settings, AGP/PCI locked at 66/33.
JC has the same board and card as I have and he has no problems with the modded BT bios either.

Juliper,

Where does a guy find a thing like the modded BT BIOS??
I'm currently sporting the modded A4 (A5) Gibbo bios....

Have you seen some improvement of some kind with that bios??

Please tell:)

I posted a thread about the modded BT bios here (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4032)

No big changes compared to the A4 bios, but it runs fine for me, perhaps even a little more stable on the memory at higher speeds. I'm more or less limited by the Corsair PC3200 C2 which can run nicely at 232 Mhz, 2-7-2-3, Enhanced ON.
With a PC3500 i tried, I managed to bench at 238 Mhz, 2-7-2-3, enhanced ON. Even 240 and 243 were possible but not stable.
JC has the stick now and he's running fine at 236 Mhz, 2-7-2-3 enhanced ON.
I'm testing to see if DIMM 1 works better than DIMM 2. I always had my memory stick in DIMM 2 but JC told me his performed better in DIMM 1.

You can DL the modded BT directly from my little webspace ;) :

Gibbo from OcUK seem to think that the Radeon 9700 doesnt like fixed PCI settings, he has set his to 1/4 divider and it seems to work a lot better...

However, if you go too high then the pci is too far out of spec...
