Maybe if you could explain a little more? And how is it illegal?
This might not be something that can be discussed on here due to possible legal repercussions???

Are you talking about R12?

I was thinking R12.. but R12 isn't banned.. the production of R12 has been stopped.. but it's not banned.. the R12 in circulation today is just recycled R12 that has been recovered and recycled back to a chemicaly pure state.. it's not BANNED for complete use.. just BANNED from new production.

It,s real simple, I think he is talking about the gas they stopped selling over the counter that was used in automobiles. Before R134a.

He should of just been more specific.. but I guess he really had no idea what he was talking about.. he knew the refrigerant just not what application it was used in..

Either case.. It seems he is getting at R12.. It's not banned thought.. just kaput on production.
