I scored this on PCMark04...wondering if it is a good score.

System: 4338
CPU: 4004
Memory: 3846
Graphics: 4527
HDD: 3716

Thanks..!

For some reason when I get to the Divx Encoding test PCMark04 just exits. No message, no error, just gone. Takes about 15 seconds trying to initialize the test and then nothing...

I have PCMark '04, got that package deal, but it seems noone ever uses it. freecableguy, do you have Windows Media Encoder installed? I'd link ya up, but I burned it to disk long ago now, don't remember where I got it.

It runs for me and spits out a 5663 PCMarks, but the scores for the CPU, memory, HDD, ect are all blank(N/A).

Yup, that's because they're seperate tests that can only be run if you have/buy a PRO license for PCMark04.

Oddly enough when I run the cpu test (available in the PRO version) test it always fails in grammar check. I have no clue why. The system is dually prime stable for several hours (only tested up to 6, but still... And zero errors in memtest either... Doom #, Far Cry can runs for hours.. weird stuff ehh :p:

My best score so far is 6912, I'm working on getting it a bit higher still, so I can have the fastest single cpu score in the hall of fame, those dual Xeon systems @ 2x ~4 Ghz are just too hard to beat... :D

I saw a single CPU system that had a 7500+ score...not really a big OC either, less than 4Ghz but this guy had HT turned off. I wonder if that makes a difference.

Got pretty sidetracked for awhile. My "puny" mobile 2600 only gets 4600. :( http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm04=2526543 Other than the CPU speed, everything's been toned down, for the heat. :p: ;) Doh, in case ya can't read it, the System = 4603, CPU=4377, Mem=2697, Grafix=4424, and HDD=3774.

That would be a bugged score...

None of this really still answers my question...lol...Is my score decent for my system?

*note* I want that new god damn DFI LanParty board for the 754 socket!!! hehe :D

Umm, best thing to do is, when you submit your score, do a compare specifying your chip, vid card, etc. Kinda funny, I noticed that my WD400JB beats out your WD800JB. :p: ;) Not by that much, but still. :D

Here is mine..... think I can break 7k with a little more tweaking. System is all air cooled. It did 6002 at all defaults with this 64bit 3.8es.

Heh guys, how about 6396 PCMarks04 with a P4 640 in a Shuttle with 915 chipset and some old Ballistix PC3200 blocks... :D http://service.futuremark.com/compare?pcm04=2909777

This is my new LAN box, that will also serve as an office pc at home. Had to put something together to play with, srta' to tie me over until the new dual core cpu's come out :p:

If your PCmark04 crashed during benches....then your system isn't completely stable and it means you need to back down a bit :D :D by the way, I found out that P4 rules the PCmark04, or perhaps I should say...PCmark04 favor Intel processors.

lol yeah, i think hyper threading helps a BUNCH in the first few tests where it does 2 things at once. just think how dual cores will eat this benchmark up!!

Yeah, and 3DMark05 favours AMD processors.

I think thats why Intel is so much higher. Things are going to change ;) I'm getting 5601 with a San Diego at 2.8Ghz. This system does bog down a lot more than my old Intel did when I do multiple things. The poor thing didn't want to even respond too much with Prime95 running while Steam was updating :)

the upcoming Athlon64 X2 will take care of all that ;) I multitask a lot so as soon as the price comes down I'll jump on it like no tomorrow :D :D :D

When dualcores from both manufacturers are benching in any Futuremark program, I would say to be fair and resonable they will have there own class and comparing them to single core CPU's is like comparing a 4 cylinder car engine to a V8 car engine.
Pretty soon expect Futuremark to release benching programs for dual cores, then they'll be truly in a class of their own. :)

What is the calculation method for 2004? As there is no patch yet for the grammar problem with X2's. I'm pretty much killing this guys X2 score of 7100 though :D He ran at 2.5Ghz though and I'm at 2.81Ghz.

I will have to pull my score at home tonight for my 4200+ X2 but it seemed low when compared to other systems that were in the same mhz range. I noticed the same thing on Sandra and part of the CPU portion of 3DMark05 but the GPU was fine at a little over 7100. There were no other dual cores to compare against on either program as of yet so it's hard to know if that is normal or not.

I ended up with 8328 @ 2.8Ghz. I had to crack the program though so I could run grammar test first.
