my friend brought his 6800nu over and i put in my pc and was playing around w/ it w/ games and 3dmark03. At stock clocks it scores 8,9xx and i was like hmm bummer thats only 2,300 more than my 9800. But I forgot that it wasnt oc'd. So I uped the clocks to 400/880 & did 10,500. I had lots of programs running in the background and in winxp. Is this an ok score w/ a nu?

lol we've all gotten so used to the godly oc's from these cards we arnt even impressed with 8.9k STOCK anymore... sheesh :p:

6800's seem better in doom 3 and far cry.. ATM. so if u like those games, go the 6800gt i reckon. if u like hl2 go the x800's :D or if u dont care - as long as u get monstrous fps, then, go either.

well im a CS fan so CS:s (hl2 engine) is what i want most in. Either card will do me fine. But im slightly a fan towards ATI. I was impressed w/ 2k extra just from a lil effort oc. I dont even know if it was the max.

Meh, I would probably go with the 6800... I honestly doubt there will be that much performance difference in HL2. Plus, I'm cheap, and it's cheaper. :)

DO NOT buy a card based on HL2!

First of all, HL2 isn't even that graphically intensive, any next-gen card will do perfectly fine with it whether it be a 6800NU or an x800 pro. And the damn game isn't even out yet...for all we know it might suck. You should never buy a video card based on ONE game...there ARE other games out there you know.....

if u can go for the 6800 gt, get it. the next gen games (and d3, far cry) support sm3.0, which increases performance. the x800's do not support sm3.0 . (yes i know its not a BIG deal, but its just another thing to add to the list of pro's.)
