All right guys I have some questions for you certified Gurus. Not sure if I sould post this Overclocking, you Overclockers might not be the sharpest in the bunch:D Just kidding, I know you guys are smart:D
I have about 5 more pages to go after this so lets get a move on:D
As far as #9, here is answer C & D

fdisk /MBR is a command and maybe the use of MBR is meant to confuse. but look how the question is worded is why I went with D on question 6

TheDude
10-20-2002, 04:00 PM
OPP, I'm pretty sure about 7
Fugger, yeah kinda a trick question, but I bet they are looking for MBR.
The trick is not so much giving the correct answer, but the answer they want, often 2 different things entirely. These tests don't really test your know how, more like testing your ability to take tests.:D
I have to step out for a bit, but will check back later, kinda fun when your'e not the one getting graded!;)

I can see that, the key word in the Question is "A" I think. If they would have used the word "The" then MBR would have worked better.

#12

disk cache is used for teporary storage of data being read or written to the hard disk.

Ram Disk is using ram to vreate a virtual disk, "speed up access time" could apply here but disk cache also speeds up access times.

can go both ways the way it is worded.

#13 a drive is made to be installed in hor/vert positions, dell is a good example as they will install a drive facing down in the front of the case. GXP iirc is the model. You wil find a few more PC's with HD's installed like that.

#18 SCSI ID 0 is the default boot ID for SCSI drives

TheDude
10-20-2002, 08:17 PM
I guessed at 13...we all know from open rigs we have that they work in any position:D but I was looking for an answer that "they" would approve of.
#18 I would have guessed 0 but really didn't know
#12 could be wrong..kinda iffy, but I'll stick with it:D
Looks like Fugger might have nailed it?
When do we get our grades prof. opp?:D

PiLsY
10-21-2002, 10:32 AM
Just after a 14 hour shift rebuilding a mainframe server rack m8 - could barely see ffs :p. Anyway, the above lot should all be correct - wasted my lunch break in work ;).

Marci - any word on the rev 1.3's yet? I may have to just get this thing replaced and RMA again when the 1.3 revision is readily available. Also - got any small, thin (the thinner the betteR) coldplates knocking around that would fit in the prometia clip? Its about 40 x 40mm. Desperately need one as this cpu is NOT happy at the moment. Having said that - 3.52ghz at damn near default voltage, but I know its capable of more.
