anandtech did a review of the board... the one they got
didn't have 3:4 mem ratio, only 4:5....
http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.html?i=1728
hopefully, a epox will have a bios update to put the 3:4 ratio
back in...

other than that, it looks like epox is back on top of things,
especially now that they've got the p4 power connector
back on.... wonder if this board will rise to the top
like the 4bda2+......

maybe we'll have something to play with untill dcddr comes
out.... ;)

i wish someone in the US would hurry up and start selling these,
I'm nearly dead to try one and compare with my incoming albatron board....

I know, what's the hold up about! And how come we have to wait so long here in US, I'm fed up with these IT7s that keep blowing.

Any word on when they will actually be stocked?

The usual way to do that with Epox s to move the FSB jumper from 133 to 10mhz. This is pretty much the same as the HWStrap in abit bioses. You get the 1:1, 3:4 and 3:5 dividers instead of the 4:3, 1:1 and 4:5.

Thats IF its got an FSB jumper....

I tried moving the jumper on my 4g4a, set it to 3:4, and running my 2.66 @ 3ghz w/ ram at DDR400, but I could never get it to run anything in windows without locking up.

Has any of you got one yet ?

You need to fix the pci/agp ratio as well as moving the jumper. Auto ratio at that setting gives a 1/3 divider. Not good at 150mhz or more :p.

I`m having here the same mobo like Peter and there is no 3/4 div to find(pilot sample mobo).
But there is one thing in the bios what`s real great, the agpfsb is sepperate from the cpu fsb to rise between 50>80mhz.
And I also have ask taiwan for a 4/6 div to get in the bios, and they are working on it.

Here you can see a lot pics from the mobo with wc on the norhtbridge.

What's the difference between the 4g4a & 4pea? The i845pe officially suports DDR333 & hyper-threading, but is that the only difference?

Yes, that`s right. But there is a lot more to set in the bios, like agp fsb from 50 to 80 mhz. And maybe there will be a 4/6 divider in the future. :D

Any other settings? They just seem so similar, but there is a $50 difference in price.

The 4PEA+ has the 12v P4 power connector on it.....
also, it has vmem up to 3.2v....

Also, it has serial ata raid and ata 133 raid....

4 usb ports, 2 firewire ports.....
onboard lan...

the voltage regulation on the board is excellent :)
when I set my vmem to 3.2, it gave me 3.34 without any
psu tweaks or anything

How high can you set your vcore? Max real is 1.81V.

In the bios, is there a 3:4 ratio as well?

libertate

According to petervandamned, there is indeed a 3:4 in the
bios.... I haven't found it yet though....

That's about it for features, just the 12v power connector
is all, the board has the best voltage regulation I've seen....

Not really worth it to upgrade from a 4g4a+ unless the
board is getting low 12v rails or your shooting for 500 ddr....

I'd love to see some of the big dogs like hipro5 or opp
try this board out, since it delivers 3.34vdimm real world...
that combined with a good stick of xms pc3200 c2 should
be good for some nice bandwidth :)

When I get my RMA back, I'm going to shoot for 500ddr,
but I know I'll fall short since all I have is an alpha pal8942....
with 4:6 ratio, I might have a chance though :D

is the Hyper Threading voice present in the BIOS?
