what to do with a broken vga card

what can i do with a broken vga card?
it is a gf4 ti4200 64mb

I have a not working ATi 9700 Pro..:D I pulled the leg off the IC chip when I removed the V gpu mod...

I wonder if Hell-fire would want to look at them... :D or even have them....

I can always use dead hardware for the parts that are on them.

I am happy to also look them over to see if anything can be done.

some ti4200s have a 4600 pcb don't they? or am i dreaming something up?

They may....I am out of the loop with the Ti cards bud.

It doesnt matter what design they follow, Vregs are Vregs. If a Ti4200 has the Vregs that a typical 4600 would have, then the mods are applied to the same pins on the controllers. The only difference may be what value VR is needed.

when i try to boot with the broken card in then the picture on the screen gets messed up, think like 1000000 artifacts ble red and all wierd color all over the screen, i think it was some kind of short circuit in it becasue one of my ram sinks almost fell of but it was still haning in one corner and then it touched a component on the pcb :(

probably shorted and sent a voltage spike through killing the ram or a vreg that feeds vbt/vtt.

Not a card that old, just buy something new. For like 60$ you can get a new one. (For some reason they seem to have gone up though, I remember a few months ago seeing a friend get a ti4600 for 50$)

a friend of mine have a 9800pro and he bought a zalman and when he putted it on he got artifacts when loading xp and in games, its not a heat problmen what can we do to fix it?

Last night i'f kill'd my Hercules R9800np@XT,i have allso 1.000.000 artifacts:D ,a think it's allso to mutch v on the mem,owell a still have a Sapphire R9800pro to play with:rocker: .

I can use the ramsinks from the hercules to put on the sapphire en flash it to XT,on pro bios it hits 500/380 on water,so i'll hope that i'll do better when it is flasht @ XT,let's :rocker: this baby.

your mate probly didnt put the zalman on right. try reseasting it with a thin layer of AS3 or ceram or a thickish layer of as5. or just check for contact and go from there.
he may have pulled off a resistor
