Any way to see if it is possible to enable 16 pipelines on the card? Like by flashing the BIOS perhaps? I thought of maybe finding some way of editing a 6800GT BIOS to lower the memory clockspeed, and somehow get it so that it only calls for 128MB of VRAM (which is how much this card has).

OK, I downloaded fafnir's Leadtek 6800U BIOS @ 325/700, is there any program that tells you how many pipelines are active on a GeForce 6 series card?

Might want to go over to xbitlabs and read up on the vid cards. Looks like for now, the flash is a one way trip that may not be pleasant.

I've got a PCI card in case anything goes wrong.

Arg, I can't find nvflash 4.42 anywhere. Can anyone hook me up?

EDIT: nvm, found it.

No good. Scores went down just like the first guy that tried it. Overclocks the same.

DUDE, DO READ THE ARTICLE!!! Not to be a dad or anything but it appears that disabling the pipes after the flash is not so easily done. Apparently you can flash back but the pipes don't go back.

No artifacting and the pipes are there?

Chill, there are no artifacts, and I don't think the 4 pipelines have been enabled. 3DMark03 score actually went down, so I'm just going to flash it back until someone finds a definite way of getting the 4 pipelines active.

Just trying to save ya from a potentially disastrous event.

I flashed it back to my original BIOS. 3DMark03 scores went back to where they should be. I'll read the article, thanks for the link.

You got it guy. What we need is to get hold of, modify, etc whatever is necessary to flash back in its' entirety as eluded to in the article.

I hope they find a way. 16 pipelines would kick ass.
