Hi guys. A while ago I started making my own chiller. Just today I finished it but I wont be able to put refrigerant in for another week or so. My aim was to chill my cpu (-20 loaded would be nice) and gfx card

The evap i am gonna make is based on dabit's latest chiller where he used three coils (3.5m each) and a distributor to distribute the refrigerant evenly. As a distributor I used three pieces of cap tube of 0.048" and 30 cm length. These go to a small piece of 1/4 tubing. The three coils go to a reservoir of 22cm height and around 9-10cm diameter.

Some photos of the evap coils

The condenser is 23*25 cm and is made of 3/8 tubing.

The evap's outer shell is made of pvc and the caps from thick plastic

Ready. I just need to braze the cap tube (still thinking about its length) and a shrader valve on the compressor.

I ll insulate everything and put the refrigerant in after vacation.

Your evaporator is exactly the same design as mine :D, however that pvc will crack at low temps. Get some of the ABS pipe, its black and about 4x as thick, it can stand -20C without cracking if properly insulated.

I am not sure if I can find this thing (ABS Pipe) here in greece. I plan to change the evap shell as soon as I find some copper.

Kayl: I used 3m of .031" cap tube.

About the torch, I was mistaken. Its not a benzomatic torch. It says "Gentec" on the top. sorry about that

How well did it work? I'm seriously considering getting oxy-ace, but if MAPP worked ok for you I may save my money.
