Well the temp is 51C degrees idle. I can't boot at 3Ghz but it won't load Windows. Settings for RAM is 2.5-7-3-3. That's the lowest I can go and the RAM voltage is set at 2.66V.

CPU voltage ranges from 1.58 to 1.63V.

I was thinking maybe the CPU needs more juice as the BD7-II is undervolting it. Maybe it's something else? So what are my options to get more Mhz to reach the magical number of 3Ghz!!!

Thank you. :)

ps. for system spec, check my sig :)

also no solution that would void my warranty (e.g. motherboard mod, physical mod to CPU and etc). I'll rather have warranty that an extra 110Mhz. :)

jarthel,

I'm not to Intel-Smart but I'd guess a little better cooling would do it for ya.....that idle temp is getting up there :)

How about a nice Thermalright or Alpha 80MM heatsink with a 50CFM or slight lower fan? Not too loud, and should keep that CPU rather cool :D

ABIT mobos show high temps, check the temp in bios also the Vcore If your shooting for 3gig you will need to raise the Vcore alittle. I won,t go past 1.75 Vcore. Also you need to burn in that ram so you can start running the ram at higher settings.

What's the cpu voltage set at?
As Hardwass said, I wouldn't go above 1.75V, unless you have some very good cooling.
Is 2.7V (memory) the max for the BD7 II?

If I remember right it is 2.6

Only 2.6V?? That's really low. You won't get high with that small increase.
I thought it was 2.7V for the BD7 II and that the IT7 has up to 2.9V. I'll have to check it on ABIT's site or somewhere else.

BTW : sorry for the typo, Hardass. ;)

I got a swifty mcx4000 on top right now. :) BD7-2 has 2.7V max on Vram.

can you point to the right direction? A link perhaps? thanks

Hardass,

I don't think anyone here at Xtreme has performed the memory voltage mod on the BD7 series of motherboards...I could be wrong. If I remember correctly, DDTUNG explained it as a difficult & untested mod.

jarthel,

Check the Motherboard Vmods forum here at Xtreme ;)

There is a mod for the Vdimm, but DDTUNG warns that it is tricky and not for everyone. Link (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?threadid=1348)
