I changed my 6800GT into 6800U a few days ago.

my XFX 6800U is runing under its default clock 425/1200, not like most of the 6800U runing under 400/1100.

I hear that GPU and memory voltage can be increased by just editing the bios.does it exactly work? I dont know if that XFX bios can be also edited and makes the card work perfectly?

I attach my bios origonal rom below. anyone knows the way to do it, please help me to mod it...
Thx...:D

The backup.zip you attached doesnt contain your bios, it contains a backup.com file.

This is probaly what u wanted to use to backup your bios, but i would recommand using nvflash.exe to read out the bios, as the backup.com thing made me a bad file on my fx5900.

Thanks. Thank for your reply, xtremetheme.

I am a newbie. I dont quite understand what you think I should do correctly.
I followed the procedure "a:\nvflash -b backup.rom [Enter]" to backup the Orginal BIOS. But is that BIOS file the one I am going to mod and then falsh back to the card bios?

If this is not the right way to get the BIOS file, so what should I do?

Well the BIOS is correct. You just mistype while doing the backup of the BIOS. I check it with a hex editor and all looks okay. Just rename it to "backup.rom".

Mistyping can happen to anyone :-)

Can somebody please mod it to 1.5v on the core? If possible send the modded bios to:

turnitup@online.no

Best Regards

Jim

you can use my MODED XFX6800U bios. It's already set up 3D default clock at 450/1200, 2D at 425/1200, 2D core 1.1V, and 3D core 1.5V.

I will PM the ZIP file password to you.
enjoy~~~

Sorry for the OT, but, what's the point to post a .zip file for all the people and not the password?

I agree to that ;-)

here the password is: BED5A44F

I should say it again, the moded bios may not be used by some brands of 6800ULTRAs. So, always keep a backup of your original bios, have a pci card if things go wrong.

go luck:D

special thanks for Mr. or Miss. 101:toast:
