i dunno how it worx but i do know that if you download prime 95 and run it for 10 hours thats a burn in.. Or loop 3dmark a lot.. stuff that allows the processor to learn to get used to working a high speeds. You Could laso do something nice instead of Prime 95 or 3dmark, and run Folding at home ofr us which is also good for burning in!

It'll help you and the team.... (i think lol)
Just register and download the command or graphical version and leave it on for a day or 2...

Yes i wanna do it, but my bench pc has no inet connection. That's why i have to wait for it. That I have to use something like Prime95 is clear, but what Vcore and frequency i have to use, i have a nice 1,6 a Ghz P4.

im burning in my p4 right now (got a shinney new 2.66). max oc on the p4, if it crashes, lower the fsb a little (keep the volt) keep doing that until it finishes 5 looped 3dmarks. then loop 3dmark for like 72 hours. you will see an improvement in overclockability. (i think i just made a new word)

Yea burning it cpus works great. My tool for burning is, is folding@home and that way when you burn in you can fold for our team...

agreed with Kurupt. you can also use SiSoft Sandra cpu arithmetic/multimedia burn-in, or the proggie that will_predikakis told me about, it's called cpu burn-in.
if you're gonna use 3dmark, make sure it loops@640x480x16 no AA and Vertical Sync enabled. leave it running for whole night or better, for 24 hours.

Bass,
I have the same exact problem. Mine is stuck at 170FSB. This is with -29C water and a 226W TEC. This is the highest I can run 3D at. Maybe I'll try a burn in as well.
