Hi all,

I'm currently running an AMD system, but due to an increase in cash flow i'm considering building a second P4 system.

But i have no idea about which cpu/mobo to go with?

I'm thinking:

2.4Ghz 'b'
Abit BD7-II
256Mb Corsair XMS 3200

I'm looking to spend about £300 on mobo/cpu/ram

Looks like a nice system. Try and get a C1 based P4 those overclock very well. :)

You can match the S-Spec's against Intel's (http://processorfinder.intel.com/scripts/list.asp?ProcFam=483&CorSpd=ALL&SysBusSpd=ALL&PkgType=5369).

Top notch selection. I have the same except for the RAID option in the board and 512mb on the Corsair and it's XMS3500. :)

Are you planning to O\C? (I guess that you are), if yes, i think that you should get mobo that will provide you more vmem- 2.7v is not enoguh + the fact that the board undervolts..so it's something like 2.62, go for the IT7 or the p4b533.

hmm..about the mem, you can save few bucks by getting yourself the Twinmos pc3200 with the winbond 5ns chips, or the Apacer pc2700 (Pilsy posted his scores with this mem, you can lood for it on the O\C forum).

Ok, cheers everybody.

I'm running some twinmos 2700 at the mo, think its samsung chips.

Seems pretty good, i've had it to 201 FSB, but my GeForce 4 starting throwing artifacts at me.

Nice board..it's kind of "BD7II rev2"..just the BD7II with newer chipset (I845PE, which add support for DDR333=more cpu:mem ratios), still low vmem..i would stay with the IT7., or wait for the GB7 (Granit Bay).

Yeah, but the problem is that the IT7 is so damn expensive, well in england it is, plus it only has 3 PCI slots for some reason?!

Hmm..it is expensive, but it worth it- if you can't afford it check for the price of the Asus p4b533, or Albarton's I845E mobo.

BTW-
i bought the board for 250$ here in israel, this is what called "damn expensive" :)

I'm waiting for the IT7-MAX2 Rev 2.x (http://www.abit.com.tw/abitweb/webjsp/english/pt_main_back.jsp?pPRODUCT_TYPE=MotherBoard&pMODEL_NAME=IT7-MAX2+V2.x) or the Granite Bay (http://users.cybercity.dk/~dsl30381/) . Hope they aren't too far away.
