Ok, so after falling in love with the new Turbocool, I swapped out for this TTGI 520w power supply. Here's the issue I'm running into.

At 1.75 volts and 12.5x152, I run at 4.95/11.62 on the 5/12 volt rails. Under load, it drops to 4.87/11.61 on the 5/12.

I remember reading that this PSU had an adjustable pot. Is that tied into the 5 and 12 volt rails? If so, just how far should I turn this thing? Is running under 12 on the 12 volt rail acceptable?

Anyone who has the PSU, feel free to offer advice. Thanks! :D

hi,

crank it up to 5.30/12.60, this should do. open up your PSU, enter BIOS and turn the pot CLOCKWISE. do not go over 5.40/13.20. there should be another one for 3.3v rail, use it since after adjusting 5/12 rails, 3.3v will drop.

btw, i got AOpen 400watter

I have one, I turned the pot as far as it would go. Which isn,t that far. This is a great unit. BTW a couple other members have the 520 and also turned the pot all the way.:D

Be careful while ur in there :)

Its smartest to disconnect the power cord and hit the pwr button a couple times before opening the PSU and adjusting the pots as they can store power. cabojoe told me about his experience once frying one that still had some juice left in it, and I don't want that to happen to me lol.

I know for my Antec PP-412X I actually opened it, then fired the PC up into the BIOS, and then adjusted the pots so that I could watch the voltage....but I insulated the screwdriver I was using, and it still prolly wasn't too smart :)

Good luck, be careful :D

Turn pot all the way, but don't go over 5.4 as someone stated above, I don't think it will adjust higher than that anyway. I adjusted mine with PC on while watching BIOS, but as stated above there is a real danger in doing it this way. Someone else stated that there was a 3.3 pot, I have not been able to find one in mine, I have 1 pot for 5 and 12 rail combined. My 3.3 is holding good after adustment. At a high OC, I had to adjust my pot also, but it holds steady since then and runs full load at 5.08.:D

Hey, I'd like to thank everyone for the help...

Cracked open the TTGI today, and tinkered with the pot while in the BIOS. It runs at 5.2/12.2 now. Vast improvement, and should help in overclocking a 2nd system. Time to swap out and put the PC Power + Cooling back in :D

Stupid pot was hiding under the ground wire...took me 5 minutes just to find the damn thing...hasn't anyone ever heard of "wire management?" :D

I just rotated my pot clockwise to the max it would go like others said to do and now i have the following

12v @ 12.80 and 5v @ 5.40 rock solid stable in the bios. 3.3 hasnt changed at remains at 3.31......this is comparison to 12v @ 11.93 and 5v @ 5.03 and 3v @ 3.31 :)

Is this ok to leave at guys?

and i have to go back into the psu cos i forget to attach that fan on the cover :D

ps
sorry to dig up old thread :)

Hi Creative,

I know several people in here that have been running at those settings and don't seem to have any problems. I did not crank mine up quite that high ....+5.03 .... +12.34 and 3.42 are my settings at loaded OC.

Thanks TheDude :)

I might even lower them a little to around 12.50 and 5.20 or something.....ill experiment...:)

Cheers

What about the 430W version? Does it have a pot? Where is it located and should i turn it to the max?

antipop,
Good question.

Also, did anyone verify that there is a 3.3v pot? I'm thinkin of replacin my 400w Antec that I can't say enough about w/ 1 of these...but I'd like 3.3v adjustment as well, as the Antec had it ;)
