Hi guys. I am making my own waterchiller and I have run into some problems. The most important of all is that I was planning to use 3m of 0.028" (0.7mm) cap tube but I just cant find this size in my country. The smallest I can find is 0.78mm. Will this be ok? And if yes then how long should the cap tube be?

I will use R404 refrigerant and the total power consumption of the components I am planning to chill is ~180watts. Thanks in advance.

If you can't find a captube that will work you might want to try using a (PEV) instead

this guide might help you find the right length of the cap tube @ .78mm (0.030708 inches)

CJ145 I have heard that this guide is more suitable for direct die systems.

OCme at least for this system cap tube is the way to go.

Anyone else?

The equivalent to 3M of .028 would be almost 5M of .031, but I think either of these would be too restrictive for your chiller. I would go with about 3M of .031 for your heat load. If your heat load is higher than estimated (or for faster pulldown), you may need to shorten it to about 2.5M.
