First post and already a very n00bish one :shakes:
Ah well here goes... I've bought some potentio's (trimmer) and i can't seem to find their value. Some of them do have the value printed on the package but some don't.
This is what's printed on them:
* 4290X502 9118A
* W503I P0211
* 4290X103 DT69902A
* 3006P 203 0015GA
Is there some sort of database to look it up? Or how can I find the Ohms by reading it?
sorry for my bad english

There will be 3 legs on the pots.
Turn the screw/handle all the way in one direction being careful not to turn to far as you can damage the internal sweeper.
Then just check the value using a multimeter set to read Ohms/Resistance between the middle leg and one of the outter legs. If you get a reading of 0 ohms, then check the middle leg and the other outter leg to get the max resistance that the trimmer is capable of.

Ok thanks I'll give it a try :)

On my trimmers leg 1 -> 3 show the max resistence of the trimmer.

Yes, if you read the resistance between the outter legs only, you will get the straight thru max resistance possible for a trimmer.
I usually dont tell people to check a trimmer this way as they need to know how to adjust the trimmer and which pairs of legs give max resistance and zero resistance when turned clockwise or counter-clockwise.

Here you go, bro:
* 4290X502 9118A - 5k ohms
* W503I P0211 - 50k ohms
* 4290X103 DT69902A - 10k ohms
* 3006P 203 0015GA - 20k ohms
:)

Sheesh...where did you dig up that info Malves ole chum??
You got a super secret page somewhere that decodes all that gibberish? ;)

No secret page, bro.:) Look...
* 4290X502 9118A - 5k ohms
* W503I P0211 - 50k ohms
* 4290X103 DT69902A - 10k ohms
* 3006P 203 0015GA - 20k ohms
Take the last one - 203
203 = 20x1000 = 20000 = 20k ohms.
One more time - 502
502 = 50x100 = 5000 = 5k ohms.;)

But how to know which numbers to take?
Cant it be also :

There's no 9k trimmer or resistor. With some experience you'll know what numbers you are looking for. It kinda becomes obvious.:)

These labels are standardised.
Most times the value is coded into three numbers. The first 2 numbers are the value and the last one is the power of ten.
so 503 is 55*10^3=55000 Ohm or 330 is 33*10^0=33Ohm
You'll also find this variant:
3K9, 4M7.....
3K9= 3.9 KOhm
4K7=4.7 KOhm
