In the printout of mounting instructions it says the block comes with standoffs I put into the mobo mounting holes to screw the block to. But there are no standoffs. The mounting equip contains...

2, hose clamps
2, springs
2, bolts
2, nylon retaining washers
2, metal washers
2, Bits of aluminum pipe about 15mm long and 3mm diameter
1, socket 462/939 hold-down

Anyone have a quick explaination of how this thing works, or at least what those damn bits of pipe are for?

Oh don't worry. I found it.

They had sent me the Xeon mounting guiide, which also had pictures of the A64 mounted... so I assumed that all blocks mounted similarly. I was wrong. I looked on the manufacturer website (and emailed the stores support) and found out that with A64's you screw right into the normal motherboard heatsink bracket. Tubing is to go inside the spring to prevent overtightening.
