I've been overclocking my 2100+ and I've found that at 136 FSB 2-2-5-2 1T is about 10% faster than 2-3-6-2 2T at 140 in 3DMark2K

I'm currently using 512meg stick of Crucial, the 2.5 stuff

My question is what is the highest FSB I can expect with the new Corsair 3500c2 using 2-2-5-2- 1T?
Or if this is even the best memory

Or a comparison in bandwidth or 3DMark between highest overall FSB vs. highest FSB at 2-2-5-2 1T

Thanks

Mike

Mike EFix,

Welcome to Xtreme :)

While some will be able to develope theories...and others will be able to speak based on some similar experience...you really won't know untill you have that stick and test it in your setup. Sorry I can't help ya better than that ;)

A 512mb of crucial is typically able to go a bit higher than that.

I/we need a lot more system specs to really help you out.

That's Ok,

I'm going to overhaul my system and probably order a Prometeia system next week.

The wife said it's a combo Christmas and birthday present so I'm pretty pumped

Waiting for the KT400a, nforce2 or a board that supports 1/6

and Barton or maybe 2400+

Decisions, decisions

I's all good though :)

Thanks for the reply

spec's:

Antec 1040 Case with antec 400W power supply
KR7a mobo with 2100+ and AX-7 HS and 50cfm fan
1 512 Crucial DDR
3*40Gig IBM120GXP Raid 0 Acard Raid controller
Geforce 4400 @ 4600
Sound blaster Live value

Currently running 13*136 (1768) max memsettings
core at 1.775
mem at 2.8
IO at 3.5

5 volt rail at 4.91

Even at 133 the memory will not run at 1T unless at 2.8.

I tried relaxing a few of th e memory timings while still maintaining CAS2 and the performance hit was just too big

I was at 1833 @ 1.85 relaxed memory timings CPU was hotter tha the big Wu and slower by 1000 pts in 3DM2K

Wow ! thanks for all the input.
Maybe if OPP sends me I'll get a discount :)

Got another question on Prometeia:

Do I need the 50.00 AMD kit ? Does it come with the discrete cooling unit

Do I need the voltage conditioner?

it's 115VAC correct?

I plan on setting it up on my current system for now knowing full well I'll probably not be able OC much more than I am right now.

But I that will give me a chance to kick the tires a little and quiet my computer room down. They are quiet aren't they?
