Drozdov,

Very nice :)
So did the 2400 chip work in the KX7 without any mods?? And was it unlocked??

yup, all i had to do is flash it to the B6 bios, then go into BIOS and set the multi to >13 and it worked...and the cpu is locked

NuTrend.com has them. I ordered one Wednesday afternoon and had it today(Friday). And I think NuTrend.com is actually part of NewEgg.com. The website, check-out, billing, shipping box, packing style, receipt, etc. all look similar/the same as the Eggs.

Do any of you guys know a reputable online retailer over there that will ship to Europe? Stock date here has been put back another month to the end of November. :(

Newegg has really shaped up in the shipping dept. I have had something ordered from them every couple of weeks for a while now. 6 or so weeks ago there was a huge change in processing time. Each and every order I have placed (regular fed ex 3 day) since then has been processed and shipped the same day the order was placed. I always order early in the day but still.....previously it would take two or tyhree days for the processing. They are improving.

While we are on the topic of 2400+.... and you'll have to excuse my ignorance, but has anyone figured out how to unlock it? Or no... Or is it not really needed.

EDIT: What am I saying, of course it needs to be unlocked heh.

Seems like it is factory unlocked with ALL multipliers. Only problem is that some/most mobos don't support the switch(extra bit?) between <13 and >12.5. This is where you need to "unlock". If you want to go below 13 and your mobo doesn't support that "switch", then you have to connect the last bridge of L3. Once that's done, your default multiplier drops to 7x but you can adjust up to 12.5x.

Oh alright sweet. Well I have an 8k5a3+ which supports up to 15 I believe. Hopefully she'll work. If not that mod isn't a problem.

I've got an 8K3A running a XP2400 and I did the L3 unlock because I wanted to run 11x200 or hopefully up to 12x200. If I was only running 166 I probably wouldn't have touched the L3 and set the multiplier down to 13x or 14x. It all depends on your FSB whether or not you should touch L3.

BTW, it's a pretty awesome chip running at 11x201. I know you guys don't run SETI@home anymore but at this setting it'll do a .417 wu in 2:26. ;)

All i know is the Abit KD7 allows u to choose any multi for the 2400+ without any bridge crossing.

The KD7 doesn't undervolt does it? If it doesn't I might have to buy that and get rid of my 8k5a3+...

Im having mad trouble with my XP2400 and gigabyte Ga-7vax...

basically... I cant get the 1/5 PCI divider to work because to make it work you have to set the 166mhz Jumper in the bios... and at that point the system can only be adjusted between 166-200mhz... since my chip is locked @ 15 multiplier and the board doesnt allow multiplier adjustment between 13-15 (which would be awesome cuz then I could run 13.5x166 for 2250 roughly)

Im not sure what im going to do really... The chip has shown amazing overclockability... I cranked the FSB to 150 right off the bat with no voltage increase and got 2250mhz but when I rebooted I got hard drive corruption as a result of the heightened PCI bus... can anybody think of a solution to this?

If I unlocked it and ran it @ 12.5 mult with 166mhz it would be a really lame 2075mhz which is way under the chip's potential since its already shown 2250mhz with no voltage increase on air cooling... so basically what im saying is... I dont know if a new board is the answer... since even if I had 12.5x166 with a 1/5 divider... the second I try to crank the FSB up higher, the PCI devicese are just gonna get gay on me again... and who wants that?

opinions please

hello guys...a little off topic: What's the latest revision of the KX7? A friend is getting one and would like to have the latest one for future upgrades (now it is running a 1600+) with Tbreds.

I know the KD7 should be better, and is newer, but is not availiable at the moment in spain and my friend needs the computer now.

thanks in advance.

Got a KX7-333R from Newegg about 3 weeks ago and it was rev 1.1 - there is a sticker on the back of the board. I don't think you have to unlock (the L3 trick) on the 2400-2600 on the rev 1.1 mobo. If I am wrong, someone please let me know.

thanks for the input, rick :) Ok, so that mobo is supposed to support the Tbreds with no problems.

From what I can remember, there are revisions 1.00; 1.01; 1.02 and 1.1 of the KX7?

/HEY you just edited your post ;) If anyone can confirm the newest rev works with Tbreds it would be cool.
