Lightning storm. Didn't have a surge protector. Won't make that mistake twice.

Anyway, I got a Mobile 2400+ 45W and it does 2.2GHz at 1.6v, 2.4GHz at 1.8v, 2.5GHz at 1.9v, and 2.6GHz at 2.2v (due to undervolting). I want to decide on a new motherboard, and will not be getting another NF7, since A) I can get something much better now than what I paid for the NF7 originally, B) Two NF7s that my friend owned fried on him, and that's discouraging.

It basically comes down to the DFI Infinity or the Abit NF7-S.

With the DFI Infinity you get 3.3v for the RAM, but only 2v for the CPU. It will handle a higher FSB (my RAM can do 230 with 2.5 CAS latency at best) but I'll be limited to around 2.5GHz. Plus there are those cold boot problems people have been talking about.

With the Abit NF7-S, I get the higher core clock with the added available VCORE options, but am limited to about 220 FSB. I also get Soundstorm and EAX support for onboard audio, but there's always the risk of frying like the other NF7s.

If there is a board out there that is reliable that will get me both a high core clock and FSB, be sure to suggest it. Vmodding is not an option.

What's the highest speed you can run 2-3-2-11 timings at?
2-4-2 has gotta hurt your performance bad... I'm not sure i'd try to push your fsb up high with that ram. You might be better off with another NF7.
I've had 2 NF7-S's and one NF7, i really can't find any fault with them.

Well, not really. I can run one or two tests in 3DMark01 and only gain a few frames with RAS to CAS at 3. How is the Abit AN7? I know the first BIOS sucked, but there is BIOS 15 out now. I'm wondering how that is.
