I'm planning on making a chiller out of an old a/c next week, and I wanna put some quick disconnects in the lines. Do any of you guys know of a brand/site that has disconnects good down to the -50-60C range? I havent had much luck so far...

Any help is greatly appreciated:)

I prefer screw clamps on barbs myself... will you be making a cascade chiller from your old ac unit?

if he adjust his charge he could possilbly get to the -40 range..... + there are other facter invovled. So you cant say straight off the bat no way, even though your prolly right........

Jamaljaco has hit -72C with my first A/C chiller. Of course, this is no load, mounted in a window, and on a cool morning. :D

I never even knew -72C was possible on a single stage :O

Most of the purpose made quick disconnects are plastic and I would tend to worry that they could not take the cold.

There are industrial metal quick disconnects available but they are larger and much heavier. I would tend to stay with hose/clamp setup for the cold chillers. Simple many times is the best.
