What do you guys think of Sonicwall Firewalls???

umm i dont think anybody is gona use a hardware firewall unless they have a business or something. Too expensive for home use. But at work we use cisco :D

Good point Ulfar, $60 for a router or $500 for a firewall. Hmmmm hard choice there LOL

We use Sonicwalls at work and find them very good for VPNs.

Hard to fault except for the price. Very easy to configure aswell. Would like one for home but cant justify the money.

The other option is to use an old PC as a hardware firewall using smoothwall or something similar.

They are simple... Stable... and Secure! Need I say more!

I use SnapGear Routers/firewalls. I like the fact there is no bs Cal issues with VPN.

The cals do suck with the Sonicwalls... I guess it all depends on what scale you intend on implimenting it. It's the same with a Windows server/exchange server... so it didn't really stop me from implimenting our sonicwall. You have to plan your cals just like you would with windows products.

Like i said... depends on scale.

The Sonicwall cals are SUPER cheep too.

I am an Ex-L2 Tech Support from Sonicwall. I was curious what the majority of users thought and felt about Sonicwalls.

Sorry bout your luck bud, we use all cisco. Pix's. For vpn's, cisco VPN concentrator.
