My mom broke our old fridge (gas leak), so i was aloud to have it.

I ripped all the goodies out:

The compressor is tiny, so i plan on making a small chiller for my GPU (no bigger than a prommie) only i have no clue on how to make one :D i got no clue where to start.

Can i use a small radiator from a car or so as a condensor?

The sticker inside the frige said:

TYPE: KS 7135
240V AC 50 HZ
TOTAL LOAD: 135W
FUSE: 13A
REFRIGERANT R12
MADE IN SWEDEN BY OSBY AB

and the sticker on the compressor says:

COMPRESSOR MODEL: S110LKAA
220/240 50HZ 1PH R-12

can i use this to build a lil chilla? :D

Radiator from car? It's bad idea.. it will leak

You're asking if this compressor will be good for chiller? Why not,
it's better than watercooler ;)

You have all the basic and advanced info in the stickies at the top of this page, I recommend you to read them, then post your doubts and the people who really knows will help you ;)

well i think the long copper tubes (hard to see on pix above) was the condensor ... this right?

and the big white thing is the "evap" thing ...that will go in the reserviour. right?

only i want it really compact ...so thats why i was thinking of a car radiator as a condensor, i guess i will have to buy a proper compact one. only i don't know where over here ...

and will i need a different evap ...cuz the evap of the fridge (big white thing?) is too big... how do i get around this?

the stickies are super helpful..especially the guides that lordarse put up..., about the evap..just get some cutters...tube cutter, cut off the old tube..or just cut it shorter and coil it and just braze it together..i don't see a condenser

whats so useful about the stickers?

i read Lardarse's guides.

i know what to do about the evap ...ill build a reserviour and coil the tubing in there aroudn the pump. i got a pump already.

if i don't have a condensor does that mean the fridge didn't have one? ...so ill need to buy one.

You might have a hard time finding R12 to regas it, the most I was able to find was this really tiny bottle of it, it was only a few hundred grams.

can't i regas it with another gas? if so can someone name the ones i can use. If i call a fridge repair guy up to regas it, won't he have it?

otherwise i guess ill have to find another fridge/airco or something to use.

oh yeah, I forgot about that. You could use propane. (R290) It probably would be the easiest as it doesnt require an oil change.

If you change the oil in the compressor to polyolester, you can change the refrigerant to R134A, or if you wish colder temperatures you could also use R507 or R404.

Indeed.. that should be the condenser.
If you want to make it cheap you can just take these tubes and bend them so that you can make it more compact.

Here you can find the prommie-style condenser: http://www.haegkoeling.nl/
Look at the section koeltechn.Onderd.

You can make one yourself from copper tubes. Since you want to make a chiller you can just make a big coil or something like this. Maybe the site from DaBit could help you:

Thanks a lot Twynn for the links! :D I've been looking all over where to get these parts. U know where i can get all the tools i need to re-gas etc. everything myself?

Its cool i can use propane ...since i just looked in my garage and we have 2 x 7.0 kg bottles of it right here haha :D ..one of which hasn't been used once yet.

if you role up the evap to make it smaller and submerge it, use that bottle of R290 and your set to learn now just need some shaeder valves, t piece and gauges
