No pictures or anything shiny to look at yet. Sorry everyone... BUT, like the topic says I'm getting a custom block made. And for what? I'll show you. This GD stupid northbridge on the IT7! Honestly, hooks? The silliest idea ever if you ask me. I have someone working on making me a block with some kind of lock down for it. I dunno, he's gonna figure it out. :P When I get pictures I'll be sure to post though. And I told him that it must be able to use a cold plate/ pelt :) We shall see what he comes up with.

Sys, your right. That's about the most ghetto nb hsf I've ever seen...

Good luck man.;)

most all intel boards come that way.

I figured out this riddle a while back and was able to use the Abit Spring that they use for the stock heatsink, the secret is using a micro northy block and placing a small groove across the block, the spring holds the micro block snuggly. Works great for me ;)

This may be a dumb question, but is a pelt really necessary for the northbridge? Some people have said on various boards that only a heatsink and fan are necessary. What do you guys think is the most extreme someone should go with northbridge cooling?

Sys, just make some plexi holders like i did. Cheap & effective:

@fishaOfMen: a pelt is in 99.99% of the cases an overkill imho, even watercooling it is only justified because it doesn't make any noise, but it won't let you overclock better than a HS & fan cooled NB.

Well, a bit of an update since this thread is active again, I am selling my IT7 and already sold my 2.26B so no more block ;P

The core of an i845(p)e is w/o heatspreader: glueing is no option. :)
