how the hell do you do it. I got a large meanwell PSU from danger den and have no idea how to hook the thing up. last one I used had a power cord. this one has a bunch of channels, a few exiting, and one entering..... do I splice a molex connector into it? it came with no instructions and DD has not responced to my E-mail. any advice would help :)

Do you have a multimeter? If so, check the rails.

WHen you see +12v or something around there on the readout, you are good to go.

Here's a shot of the Meanwell hooked up to your power cord:

Hook up the power cord to the supply by connecting to the last three connections (green, black, white...ground, nuetral, hot) on the right. Connect the TECs to the PSU using one (v+) and one (v-) rail from the left side.

Do NOT use a molex connector. Most TECs do not come with molex connectors anyway. You just need to solder leads onto you TEC wires and connect the leads to your PSU.

There are some 80w TECs out there (GPU TECs) which do come with the molex connectors. Those CAN be connected right to the regular system PSU providing that the system PSU is 400w or above.

mdzcpa: that is perfect, so just strip a power cord and use those wires.... never thought of that. and I am guessing that it does not matter what type of wire I use to go from the TEC to the PSU... I have a bunch of speaker wire from a car install I could use, think its 16 AWG wire.

Be careful...use only 14 guage wire at a bare minimum for the TEC hook ups...12 guage is preferred. Those TECs draw plenty of juice and those wires will actually get quite warm. Do not use 16 guage wire.
