I think you can just edit your post when you get a higher score. Thats what I've been doing. You may end up with a bunch of scores doing it that way. Really nice score btw.

I'm having troubles with my internet connection and haven't been able to frequently access the net the past few weeks. Kinda sucky. :/

On a brighter side, piercedpatato might provide us with a server to run the mbot on. :)

After nearly 2 months downtime, the mBot server is back online.

Bandwith is limited, but it's a fast, stable server of which I have full control.

If you want to configure the bot, watch how other teams do or browse the results, visit http://213.224.90.80:7001/mbot/

Just flashed the BIOS on my 9800Pro :) Was able to overclock it to 460.93MHz (core) and 360.64MHz (mem).

Also overclocked my Athlon 64 3200+ (winnie) to 2.45GHz for the benchmark.
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k1=8401231

My aims for my next benchmark are:
- Try and benchmark at 2.5GHz+
- Lower RAM latencies to CAS2.5
- Tweak windows XP loads and overclock my card more!!!

After installing this graphics card my CPU usage (at idle) went up and it is constantly switching between 2 and 4%, scarcely dropping to 0 %. I had installed drivers that come on the CD (66.93), I tried Nvidia`s 66.93 and also 67.03. Before installing the card I have uninstalled previous display drivers, nforce drivers (control panel + safe mode) and even with the help of Nasty File Remover and Driver Cleaner, but nothing worked. It was (is) still using my CPU in idle.

Hi Guys,

Just a quick response with reference to the mbot league tables.

No-one is playing dirty is was an open and honest mistake - we did not know that mbot was case senitive.

We have been working with mbot ever since this was discovered and over a month ago all duplications were removed from the scores that you are now seeing in the mbot leaderboard.

That is to say that we are geniune no1 leaders in 3d mbot benchmarks, this can be verified by emailing mbot and asking.

There will be a new version out soon that will negate such oversights in future.

Rest assured there are no dirty tricks here and we look forward to continued competition between TEAM EPUK, TEAM XS and TEAM XR.

Good luck guys, may the force be with you......................always. ;)

=']and gave another one of his scores and had someone else post it  and did the same thing for hwbot in 03 and 05, someone is playing dirty/

Mate I dont give my scores to anyone - they are all mine.

It is unfair and unjust for you to make baseless accusations like that, sour grapes perhaps? :slapass:

Here at ExtremePrometeia we now have but two members left to post - Livingl@rge and Dazboots.

Hopefully we can cement our no1 position in all 3 3d mbot tests, until then we still remain in the top spot............... for now.

You guys seem to have good depth in the quality of your benchies - that is to say at least 8 of your top marks are with 7800sli rigs.

XR guys have PCICE cascade rigs - which are beautiful pieces of machinery and can allow highest ever clock speeds which gives the selected few stunning results.

The challange ahead is between us three and although I have now posted all my scores (having achieved all i can with the kit I have) I think there will be even higher scores from every team in the next month or so.

With all the new kit that has been introduced recently - it's a great time for overclockers everywhere.

maverik-sg1

Hi mate,

I thought everyone used the filter only highest scores from each user??

I am not 'lucky' at all look at my system specs:

FX55SD 270*13
BH5 2-2-2-6
Reference 7800's @ 510/1450 watercooled
PCP&P 850w supply
R507 Mach2
Audigy2 soundcard
Running winXP SP2

And yet in spite of my relatively (compared to the top guys) low overclocks I am up there with them - If only I had a cascade and vmodded pelt cooled 7800's? I'd be right up there and beyond - as it stands all above me are the lucky ones - lucky I aint got the same kit

But it's all about the fun - I enjoy the competition after all thats whats it's all about.

I dont do flaming, I don't like being told how to conduct myself and I dont tell others how to conduct themselves - I respect people and their achievements and my motto is live and let live, but most of all enjoy it.

Maverick,

I never said you were lucky. Yes I know about filtering
The problem with filtering is if someone has scores on different platforms/cards they are difficult to find.

What is the point of publishing every score you have a few points different anyway? A pro bencher would never do that.

You guys should try and keep up with current affairs - and take the time to read further on in our own forum and I quote a retort from me in our forums:

I wrote

Clearly we did not know that would be the effect and apologise for it unreservedly, if anything though we helped highlight and unknown bug in the program - but in know way intended to exploit this to our advantage.

The other issue is that even though we deleted the scores, they were not taken from our leaderboard.

I think you'll find that the best we could to resolve this situation was to post even faster scores so they drop out of the top 10 - this we have done with some success and are now the legitimate No1 Benchmarking team in mbot.

Again apologies, I look forward to seeing the revised hwbot in action as to avoid any further instances of human error - we as a team will be more vigilant in future.

The Coach

And MBOT Wrote:

The duplicate scores are blocked (lowest one of the bunch), which means they won't affect the team average no more.

The next release will not be case sensitive anymore.

That was in early July ;)

And the link to this can be found here:

http://www.extremeprometeia.com/forum/showthread.php?p=21776#post21776

Rest assured guys, the scores you are seeing in the Mbot league table from TEAM EPUK are the real deal 100% genuine and they make us NUMBER ONE - Of course you got OPP with a fantastic score and I think it should be posted to give you guys a fighting chance of catching up with us - the gap is pretty big right now in 01.

@ G H Z - I never said I was a pro bencher, therefore your comments in any sense to me are invalid - please dont go on at me, it wont make any difference. On the other hand if you been polite enough to ask instead of making demands I would have respomnded more postively in the same respctful manner. I will consider the issue again in a few weeks.

If you want MSN details of each of us I'll PM them to you and I'll call him so we can get a group discussion going at the same time.

It has been disproved via mbot u moron, u make me laugh so much my sides are hurting.

The reason why the piccies were removed was simple - firstly we had the issue with duplicated names/scores due to the bug in mbot. 2ndly we were able to improve alll of our scores making the older and lower scores irrelevant.

You cant post other peoples scores on your sign in you noob.

It only suggests to me that ZX and GHZ's baseles accusations and desperate postings of other peoples scores (perhaps hiding behind your own inadequacy in the benching dept) are nothing short of real desperation for GHZ and ZX to tarnish the good name we have and in some way justify why you are not in the no1 postion.

Fortunately most of use are aldults and enthusiaists understand the word friendly competition - I know for a fact that your mods will see it that way and this is all getting out of hand and uncecessarily personal from two rogue members in your great forum. :slapass:

270x13 is the best overclock for benching with FX55SD which, u :banana::banana::banana: - is why our clocks are the same when we bench as will be anyone else with SD55's and old skool bh5.

Greetings,
It is so nice that you appeared here! I want to ask you as one of EPUK members to do a favor for all the community. Please can you be so kind to REMOVE that LOADS of your and your teammates (just ask them to do this too, please:)) scores on front page in 2k1 ranking? First two pages of ORB contains TWENTY NINE (29 of 40!!!) scores from you, Gollum, scorchio and The Legend. Don't you think this is too much for FOUR people? For me it looks like just a lack of politeness and respect to other competitors. Usually when higher score is achieved then lower should be unpublished in ORB, that's traditional practice.

I also want to point that some of the scores posted under different names are really _too_ similar. I haven't seen such close range of results (and setups too!) from three different people during all these years of 3DMark benching and if someone will ask my personal opinion I also will note the strange coincidental appearance of three new names in TOP-10 with such similar setups... Anyway, we should investigate this more thoroughly. I can't claim you or your teammates as cheaters right now but the situation is strange enough.

I think that it would be very nice if you publish a pictures of your rig and gather photos of your teammates setups. The whole situation isn't too pleasant and I don't get any satisfaction from this case, if you are interested. You noticed right - ORB race is a hobby and no prizes/money involved here, we all do our best in benching just for pleasure and fun. But this "fun-oriented" society also prepare fair play game which satisfy everyone and is quite sensitive to different types of lies (cheating, bugged scores, etc.). In any way your 46k+ scores are impressive job and I applause you personally for this achievement. But as things are getting too complicated with all this EPUK stuff ATM, could you be so nice to prove somehow that there are really at least four of you in EPUK with so similar setups? As I mentioned before, to see pictures of your rigs would be very nice way to show everyone that scorchio, The Legend and Gollum aren't just a ghosts/bots in the ORB but real benchers of respectable skill and current situation is just a unfortunate misunderstanding.

P.S. Plz pardon me if my post looks messy - I'm just a bit drunk and _very_ tired after the night of streetracing...

Mr ICEE a very respected and long time hand with benching was also questioning this situation. He posted some comments in one of their team threads over at EP.

Quoted for your pleasure

Hi Guys :)

With all due respect, I must inquire why your top benchers have manipulated their names so as to get all their top submissions included in your Top 10??
Obviously this name manipulation allows more than one of each benchers top scores, which also subverts the original intention of the HWBot.

Under normal circumstances, each bencher within a Team submits a new high score, and his subsequent score gets discarded leaving his highest score to be averaged.

I must say I have been very impressed by your Team over the months, but after coming here today to read up and seeing the name manipulations being done by certain Team members in order to include all their high scores and thus increase the Team average, I am quite disheartened to see Fredericks BOT development efforts skewed by an obvious attempt to subvert the HWBOT.

If other Teams see this type of manipulation and allow their members to manipulate their names a bit to allow all their high scores, this whole concept will get out of hand and become meaningless and Richb@stards efforts will be for naught.

I do offer congrads to all of your Top benchers on their extraordinary efforts otherwise

Best regards,

Randi "MrIcee"

Well guys,

Mi Icee and I are the ones who instigated the clean out, the issue here is simple - before you judge why not pop over to EPUK and have a look at THE FULL STORY.

I will post piccies of my rig and I'll do scorchios too (over at EPUK that is), but as stated before I have to host his piccies and he is not very well versed in the ways of computing - although with my help and advice he is a force to be reckoned with.

To imply that we are in cahoots with admin in some sort of conspriacy is ludricous - you should be banned GZH for your own baseless accusations, this is not what forums are for.

Rig specs so similar becuase EPUK is a forum for a web-shop selling high end gear - the only UK place to get Mach2's from and it's the place to be in the UK if you own a high end system and want to learn something locally, the community is friendly, you hardly ever see the BS that GZH starts at EPUK.

The next statement is my thoughts on the similarirty of the specs:

Why do we have BH5? It's the best for benching, unless you have a cpu that can handle 300+mhz FSB (which most of the E4 revisions cant handle) we all know old skool BH5 is the best, the new stuff craps out mostly at 265ish and thats what ebay is for. The Bh5 I have is the best from a batch of around 8 sticks of 512MB although I just purchased gollums PC5000 TCCD to see if my CPU can handle the higher HTT.

Why FX55SD? Mostly coz I found that most fx57's will only clock as high as the FX55's under single stage phase- I couldn't justify the cost, I think if you read the EPUK forum, you'll see we all waited to see what the 57's were capable of, as it stands with the cooling we have it's capable of the same for an extra £250 - this was comunicated through our forum.

We all have DFI SLI-DR MOBO's - why, well we all have BH5 and the 4v DIMM rail is needed to sucessfully overclock BH5, plus their fookin good board (personally I have blown 3 up though LOL).

Why 7800GTX's - well right now, is there an alternative? no, I also found that even though all these other makes (probably with the exception of Dazbbots XFX Extreme 7800's) all clock the same if you use the modded BIOS - which we all do, I know we do coz Gollum4444 and Another (asked not to be named) distributed the file so we could all escape the cold bug. The only difference for the team is some have air cooling, most are watercooled, we all have phase.

Successful rigs breed, that is to say, think of your PC like a street racing car, the guys who are winning all the races - people want to see what under the hood and get the same - thats what has happened at EPUK, nothing more, nothing less.

I would have though that within a moddest budget thats the sort of system everybody aspires to have, I dont really think there's and alternative to have right now, cascade coolers are not readily available in the UK, well not until Fatty actaully get round to building one - And Intel are so far behind the game right now, it really is only AMD.

the only thing we seem to discuss at EPUK is which PSU to use??? LOL

I honestly can't believe that I have had to go through all this just to satisfy the curious, all you really need to do is pop over to epuk and have a looksie.

Most of the secrets of my success are posted for people to learn from and why not I consider myself to be the coach of EPUK 3d benchies, my results are class and I want the team to do well and guess what? They have followed my advice and congrats to them for the success we are enjoying right now, long may it last.

Scorchio and I play UT2004, add us to your buddies lists and check us out when we are online.

Now please, please move on from this and get to what really matters - BANNING GZH!!

Greetings,
It is so nice that you appeared here!

One of the biggest quotes in history!! Anyhow, that the way to do things around here, ask politely! GZH could do with being banned until he learns some manners.

I will post a 'clean up ORB' thread so that any of the scores the EPUK members have published will no longer be published. It's not a lack of respect that they aint been cleaned up, lazy maybe, but so is not using filters - personally I dont see the issue, but it clearly is something your are not too keen on and you asked politely which is the right way.

Piccies of my rig will be posted on EPUK shortly and I'll drop a linky, scorchio will do the same, I got a piccie of gollums rig, its to fookin mess but at least u can see it. I can't speak for the other guys as we only seem to see them when the e-penis is enlarged.

I would expect the scores to be similar, I coached em all, they all have the tools, I taught them the skills so similar rigs get similar scores - I don't see the issue, but take the point you are trying to make.

I just feel that we are being persecuted for our the success, which I have to say, this is our time all we really want to do is enjoy it.

Mav, thank you for prompt reply.

Ok, the explanation of similar setups looks reasonable, you really picked a best setup for benching. Well, I even started a thread today when noticed that 18 of 20 people in TOP-20 used the same DFI mobos. Exceptions are k|ngp|n with P4C800-E and me with A8N-SLI Premium :D. BH-5 vs. TCCD is a flame issue ;) (i.e. DDR600 2,5-8-3-3-1T give better mem results for me) but once again your arguments are logical indeed. Truly if you have one hardware supplier and maintain good contacts between each other this situation may have place.
Of course, it still be great to see the pics, as you promised. Keep us updated.

"It's not a lack of respect that they aint been cleaned up, lazy maybe, but so is not using filters - personally I dont see the issue"

Well, of course I use filters :) But for years the whole community try to explain the new top-end benchers which jump to TOP-20 that the usual way is to have 1 published score per setup (i.e. that OK to publish 78GTX and X850XT scores simultaneously but not the 10+ "step-by-step-climbing-higher" history of almost identical scores). Just imagine if OPP will publish 20 scores in 47-48k range - ORB front page won't look nice then, right? This is not my personal craziness;) - just a normal way to behave on ORB. So I asked you just for maintaining the order not for my pleasure of giving you some stupid requests :) So thanks for understanding! Let's keep ORB clean!

Now let's move to the excellent accuracy of scores. Typically each bencher has its own tactics and tricks for system tweaking and performing a hi-score runs. BUT if you said that you shared the equal knowledge among all your teammates so each of you use maximum similar tweaks/etc then really with so similar setups everybody should get similar results. If this is true (sry, but I still can't believe this 100%) I can only take a hat off for such tight teamwork action! I wish that top XS members have this level of co-operation!

"Now please, please move on from this and get to what really matters - BANNING GZH!!"

Well, let me say straight. I must admit that G H Z is here on XS for quite a lot of time and proved himself as an adequate person, while you came here just recently and made some noise with all this EPUK story. Even if everything is ok with your team (and I hope that my belief in 3DMark fair play amongst top-end benchers won't hesitate this time:)) you probably understand that from different point of view and without further explanations your results really looks strange (i.e. I still don't understand why are you _all_ guys don't put any additional system info in project description:)). And please note that you also had that HWBOT double posted scores trouble recently... Of course, I'm not a admin/mod here but I totally don't see the reason for _banning_ G H Z because he have any "hard questions" to you... Yes, it is great when everything is dealt in peaceful, quiet and legitimate way but each of us is a human and can be emotional sometimes.

It's very simple really. If you don't have server access you can't remove or edit a post without leaving the post edited message with the time. You can un-host the image but you'd still have a red x in the post. The post that had the schorchio image in it is totally clean.

Why do we have BH5?

It's not that you and another guy runs BH-5, surely you can see that mav. Hell I run it myself. The point is that you and this mythical guy schorchio scores are both described as running "old skool BH-5" What he can't type now either? Oh yea, he is computer illiterate, but runs top end hardware, and lets you submit his scores, and host his images for him

You do have fatty vouching for you and that's in your favor, but until there is more clarity and pictures of each rig/cards/ect your wasting your breath.

@ Alt F13 - Not intentionally to dis you friend on the FM ORB issue - wot I meant to say is It's not important to me, but I see your point and will make the necessary changes ;)

The top 10 3dmarkers in epuk are really tight and I do really coach all of them, remember we are only a small community with perhaps 15 active benchers.

What I am able to explain in writing I do so in the forum, in fact I think a few of your guys have recently used my tips page to fuerther their scores - of course to remain no1 you have to keep some tricks/tactics to yourself but 95% of them are public knowledge on EPUK.

I see your point about GZH - in fact I am warming to him now actually.

Cheers

Mav (The coach)

@ GZH -The easy thing for me and scorchio having similar systems is that its easy for either of us to cut and paste the mbot sentence and change names and scores. Also the term 'old skool' comes from our history of being hard core clubbers in the early 90's the term old skool is used to remember the halcyon days of dance music.
